9/14/24 Big inning haunts Twins in blowout loss to Reds. The Twins have so rarely had Byron Buxton, Carlos Correa and Royce Lewis on the field at the same time this season, the trio of stars each forced off the field for long periods of time because of injuries. Saturday marked just the 18th time all year the group shared the field. That experience was cut short, as well. The Twins were so far out of Saturday night’s game that Buxton and Correa, who ...

9/13/24 Byron Buxton returns; Carlos Correa coming back Saturday. Byron Buxton did not proclaim himself 100% healthy on Friday. Still, he said he’s healthy enough to go out and compete as the Twins push for a playoff berth in the final weeks of the season. “For me, that’s good enough for myself,” Buxton said. “I know I can go out there and help the team and contribute in any possible way. It’s just one of those things where you look at where you’re at and ...

9/05/24 Pablo López on point as Twins earn series split with Rays. Fresh off an ugly defensive game on Wednesday, and digesting tough injury news about Byron Buxton, who will be delayed in his return, and Max Kepler, who landed on the injured list, the Twins needed someone who could send them to Kansas City for a pivotal series against the Royals with some optimism. López has looked every bit the ace in the second half of the season and on Thursday, he helped lead the Twins to a 4-3 win over the Tampa Bay Rays in the series finale at Tropicana Field.

Center fielder Byron Buxton is "getting closer" and likely to get a rehab assignment when he's ready to return to the Twins lineup, manager Rocco Baldelli said ahead of Monday's game against Atlanta. 8/15/24 Twins to place Byron Buxton on injured list, option Louie Varland to St. Paul. The Twins were set to make a series of personnel moves prior to their 7:05 p.m. first pitch against the Rangers tonight in Arlington, Texas. Most notably, the team plans to place Byron Buxton on the 10-day injured list with soreness in his right hip, retroactive to Monday, and recall infielder Edouard Julien from Class AAA St. Paul to take his place on the 26-man active roster. Buxton pulled himself after taking an at-bat in Monday's 8-3 victory over Kansas City and hasn't played since. An MRI exam on the hip was negative, but manager Rocco Baldelli said Wednesday the Twins want to give him time to heal.

8/14/24 Twins weighing injured list stay for injured center fielder Byron Buxton. Byron Buxton might have dodged a bullet when the MRI exam taken on his right hip came back negative on Tuesday, but the Twins all-star center fielder didn't dodge a potential trip to the injured list. Buxton, who pulled himself from Monday's 8-3 victory over Kansas City, is not going to play in Wednesday's series finale against the Royals and is likely to miss at least a few more games. The Twins were scheduled to leave for a four-game series against the Rangers in Texas after Wednesday afternoon's game. “There was some good news on the MRI,” manager Rocco Baldelli said.

Buxton pulled himself out of an 8-3 victory over the Royals because of tightness in his right hip after a fifth-inning at-bat on Monday, replaced in the lineup and center field by Manny Margot.

8/01/24 Byron Buxton, Pablo Lopez Get Real On Twins' Quiet Trade Deadline. There is possibly some feeling from fans of being underwhelmed as the Minnesota Twins were radio silent for the most part during an exciting MLB trade deadline that went by this past Tuesday. In a piece by Dan Hayes of The Athletic, he would interview people within Minnesota's organization where there could have been feelings of players being “disheartened” with the lack of moves from the team at the trade deadline. For Buxton, he would take it in a more positive direction saying it “shows how much trust” the Twins have in their current roster.
