Three-Time Patriots Super Bowl Champ Arrested In Rhode Island. Former New England Patriots fullback Patrick Pass recently was arrested for an alleged assault of an elderly man at a Providence, R.I., Planet Fitness, according to ABC6 Providence. Police said the 46-year-old Pass got into a dispute with an 82-year-old man over a piece of exercise equipment and Pass allegedly pushed the man to ground, causing injuries to his back. ABC6 Providence reported Pass was charged with assaulting a man over the age of 60 and causing bodily injury. Pass was selected by the Patriots just one round after legendary quarterback Tom Brady in the 2000 NFL Draft.

The NFL announced the nomination of 167 modern-era players for induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame's Class of 2025 on Wednesday and 13 former Patriots that were major contributors in New England are among them, along with a collection of players who spent brief stops in Foxborough. Leading the way are first-time nominees Adam Vinatieri and Aqib Talib. Vinatieri joined the Patriots in 1995 and went on to win three titles, kicking Super-Bowl-winning field goals in two of them before spending the final 14 seasons of his career with the Colts. Sean Payton made the gutsiest call in Super Bowl history, ambushing Peyton Manning and the Indianapolis Colts with a stunning onside kick coming out of halftime at Super Bowl 34 to nab the New Orleans Saints' only Lombardi Trophy. Payton also ushered in the second chapter of his coaching career by attempting an onside kick against the Las Vegas Raiders in the Denver Broncos' opener last year. It failed when cornerback Tremon Smith touched the football just before it had traveled the requisite 10 yards, and that may very well have been the reason Payton lost in his Denver debut.

Browns WR David Bell to have season-ending hip surgery. Browns wide receiver David Bell will undergo season-ending surgery after dislocating his hip in Sunday's win at Jacksonville. A third-round pick in 2022, Bell was injured while being tackled on a 6-yard completion on Cleveland's first possession in the third quarter. Know Your Foe: Las Vegas Raiders. The Raiders brought in quarterback Gardner Minshew this offseason, handing over an offense that includes Davante Adams and rookie tight end Brock Bowers. Through the first Raiders first two games, the rushing attack has been somewhat stymied, picking up only 98 yards on the game through two weeks. Instead, the trio of Minshew, Adams and Bowers have taken over through the air. In those same first two games, Minshew has gone 55-71 for 533 yards and two touchdowns (plus two interceptions).
