9/14/24 Carlos Correa expected to return for Twins' rematch vs. Reds. The Minnesota Twins will add a key player when they face the Cincinnati Reds on Saturday night in the second contest of their three-game series in Minneapolis. Minnesota (78-69) is expected to activate shortstop Carlos Correa before the game. Correa has been sidelined since July 12 because of plantar fasciitis in his right foot. Correa and the Twins will face another tough test from Cincinnati (72-77), which is looking to play the role of spoiler in its final few weeks before the offseason begins.

9/10/24 Twins' Carlos Correa sets sights on injury return, but there's a catch. Minnesota Twins shortstop Carlos Correa has been out since July 12 with right plantar fasciitis, and he does have a target for an injury return in mind, but he needs to confirm it with the team. “I was waiting to get to this point so I could push the envelope and this percentage right now, I could play like this, as to where before I couldn't even walk without pain,” Carlos Correa said, via ESPN. Before suffering the injury, Correa was having a resurgent season after a down 2023. On the season, he has a .308 batting average with a .377 on-base percentage, .520 slugging percentage and 13 home runs for a 152 wRC+, according to FanGraphs.

9/09/24 To expedite rehab process, Twins bring up Class A pitchers to throw to Byron Buxton, Carlos Correa. Carlos Correa says a new treatment for his plantar fasciitis has him feeling “great,” and Byron Buxton was back in the outfield doing defensive drills for the first time since he left a rehab game because of hip soreness last Wednesday. And while neither all-star player was ready to crack the lineup against the Los Angeles Angels on Monday, the Twins made a move to expedite their potential ...

9/08/24 Twins missing Correa, Buxton, whose return timelines are still unknown. — As the reeling Twins play deeper into the final month of the regular season and the games take on an even greater importance, it's clear just how much the Twins are missing their stars, Carlos Correa and Byron Buxton. The good news is that the Twins haven't ruled either out for a return this season. Manager Rocco Baldelli did not have an update Sunday on Buxton, whom the Twins had originally hoped to have back this weekend.

8/23/24 Twins open big homestand with Cardinals. The Minnesota Twins know their upcoming nine-game homestand could be pivotal as they pursue a division championship in the American League Central. The Twins also know that they remain without a couple of their impact hitters in Carlos Correa and Byron Buxton. "It's awesome having depth and being able to win, even without those superstars," Twins outfielder Matt Wallner said. Manager Rocco Baldelli agreed: "It kind of stamps and further emphasizes the fact that we want our players back and healthy -- but whoever we have, and we don't care who we're facing, we can go out and win games."

8/20/24 Carlos Correa, Byron Buxton progressing but no timeline for injured Twins stars. The Twins are moving closer to getting both star shortstop Carlos Correa and standout center fielder Byron Buxton back from the injured list, though they haven't publicly laid out timelines for either player. Head athletic trainer Nick Paparesta did not rule out a Friday return for Buxton, who is on the IL with hip inflammation, but he said they will need to assess Buxton on Thursday's off day before knowing if that might be possible. A potential rehab assignment for Buxton, Paparesta said, would be at his discretion.

8/17/24 Twins' Carlos Correa receives new injury update. The Minnesota Twins have been without All-Star shortstop Carlos Correa since July 12 as he recovers from plantar fasciitis in his right foot. While an exact return date is not yet known, Correa may be getting closer to a re-joining the Twins after the most recent update on his rehab process. Correa ran at full-speed for the first time in a week on Thursday, and has been participating in other baseball activities like hitting and fielding ground balls, Twins head athletic trainer Nick Paparesta told Phil Miller of the Minneapolis Star Tribune on Friday after the Twins 4-3 victory over the Texas Rangers.

8/17/24 San Francisco Giants Named Top 10 Landing Spot for New York Yankees Slugger. The San Francisco Giants have been superstar-hunting throughout the past few offseasons. Carlos Correa also agreed to a $350 million deal before the Giants backed out due to a medical concern. There will be perhaps a bigger star than Judge and Correa on the market this year. Juan Soto of the New York Yankees hits free agency unless he gets a deal done within the next few months, and he's projected to land a $500-plus million contract.

8/08/24 Avoiding The Blurbstomp – Revenge. Hello my dear friends. I apologize for the absence, but I was getting my butt into a master's program (because one masters wasn't enough), and then some family stuff popped up. There will be no grand introduction today, as I'm already seven minutes past my deadline. I'm happy to be back, but burdened by teams populated with Julio Rodriguez, Carlos Correa, and Nolan Jones.

8/05/24 Could Carlos Correa play for Twins this weekend vs. Cleveland?. Carlos Correa wants to make a rehab assignment before returning from plantar fasciitis that has forced him to miss 17 games through Monday night's game against the Cubs at Wrigley Field. “I felt like last time I didn't get any at-bats, and it took me two, three games to get back to form, and then you're playing catch-up,” he said last Saturday. The Saints are host to six games against Columbus, but the all-star shortstop still needs to clear a few checkpoints before playing anywhere. As of Monday afternoon, there were no plans for Correa to be at CHS Field on Tuesday.

8/04/24 Twins' Carlos Correa gets promising injury update, but there's a catch. The Minnesota Twins have been working hard to hold onto the second American League wild card spot over the past few weeks, and they have been doing so without star shortstop Carlos Correa. Thanks to plantar fasciitis in his right foot, Correa hasn't taken the field for the Twins since July 12th due to the injury. Correa has been hard at work behind the scenes as he attempts to get himself back onto the field, and it seems like he is closing in on a return. The only problem is that the pain in Correa's foot is lingering, and while he's been able to field grounders and go through his batting routine, he still isn't able to sprint without feeling pain in his foot.

7/20/24 Twins place Correa, Paddack on injured list, recall Edouard Julien. The Twins started the unofficial second half of their season on something of a sour note Saturday afternoon, placing all-star shortstop Carlos Correa and starter Chris Paddack on the injured list before a 6:10 p.m. game against Milwaukee at Target Field. Manager Rocco Baldelli said Correa had a platelet-rich plasma shot in his right heel. “Just the last few days (it's been) bothering me, but not as bad as it was last year,” Correa said before the break. Paddack, Baldelli said, has had scans on his right arm and been diagnosed with a right forearm strain.

7/18/24 MLB rumors: Twins looking for pitching at deadline, and they have a favorite. The Minnesota Twins entered the All-Star break 12 games above .500 and 4.5 games behind the first-place Cleveland Guardians in the AL Central. If the season ended today, the team would qualify for the playoffs with the second American League Wild Card berth. The Twins have won 13 of their last 20 games with a hot-hitting infield led by Carlos Correa and just enough pitching to get the job done.
