9/05/24 Royals Predicted To Re-Sign All-Star After Kansas City 'Struck Gold'. The Kansas City Royals certainly were busy last offseason and it has paid off. Kansas City lost 106 games last season and took a long, hard look at free agency. The Royals needed to add some pitching and target veteran pitchers looking to increase their value in Michael Wacha and Seth Lugo. Well, Wacha and Lugo both have been fantastic for the Royals and are a major reason why it's looking like Kansas City is going to make it back to the postseason.

8/27/24 Royals could potentially target Rangers ace this winter in free agency. The Kansas City Royals have been a revelation this season. After losing 106 games in 2023, they now find themselves just one game back in the American League Central, which is currently led by the Cleveland Guardians. The team could even look to spend some money in free agency again. If Michael Wacha departs in free agency, they could look at right-hander Nathan Eovaldi.

8/15/24 Royals could target Guardians ace this winter to bolster rotation. The 2024 season has been an interesting one for the Kansas City Royals. After they lost 106 games in 2023, they spent money to bolster their starting rotation and have emerged as one of the top teams in the American League. The team owns a 66-55 record and currently leads the race for the third and final AL Wild Card spot. Michael Wacha is likely to opt out and enter free agency again, which leaves an opening for the Royals to potentially pursue a top-level starter at a discounted rate.

7/24/24 Diamondbacks Rally in Ninth Inning for Thrilling Series Win vs Royals. The Arizona Diamondbacks came back to take the rubber match of a three-game set against the Kansas City Royals by a score of 8-6 after a five-run ninth inning. The D-backs were able to get to Royals starter Michael Wacha early, tagging him for three solo home runs, but the early lead would ultimately fail to hold behind a shaky inning from Ryne Nelson. Nelson's start looked solid from the beginning, as he was able to work around base traffic to induce an inning-ending double play in the first.

7/24/24 Royals turn to Michael Wacha in bid for series win vs. D-backs. The Kansas City Royals are attempting to look beyond hot-hitting Bobby Witt Jr. as a means for success on Wednesday when they play the rubber match of their three-game series against the visiting Arizona Diamondbacks. "A good team identity is diversity," Royals manager Matt Quatraro said. Hitting leadoff for much of the season, Maikel Garcia was recently dropped to the eighth spot in the order as Kansas City searched for more consistency in the lineup. "Maikel does so many things," Quatraro said.

7/18/24 Deadspin | Michael Wacha, Royals try to keep rolling vs. White Sox. Kansas City Royals right-hander Michael Wacha is hoping the momentum he built ahead of the All-Star break carries over to the second half of the season. Wacha went 5-2 with a 2.61 ERA in his final nine starts before the hiatus, and he will look to pick up right where he left off when Kansas City opens a three-game series with the visiting Chicago White Sox on Friday night. Despite his strong finish to the first half, Wacha had a bit of a sour taste in his mouth during the break. Wacha still came away with the win, but he wasn't pleased with how he was attacking hitters.
