With Julio Rodríguez, who walked through the clubhouse in his workout gear drenched in sweat, there was no mistaking the look on his face. Mitch Haniger did his part, expressing his belief the work he has seen continue to be put in by his teammates would pay off.

After Jorge Polanco walked to load the bases, Haniger hit a fly ball that got past Tigers right fielder Ryan Vilade to clear the bases and give the Mariners the win. 8/05/24 Mariners' Mitch Haniger feeling hot entering series with Tigers. Mitch Haniger had a premonition. Shortly after the All-Star break, the struggling Seattle Mariners outfielder approached manager Scott Servais and told him, "I'm about to get hot." Haniger had two hits and homered both Friday and Saturday against visiting Philadelphia, his first time with multiple hits since June 10 against the lowly Chicago White Sox, to help the American League West-leading Mariners to a pair of victories against the National League East-leading Phillies.

8/04/24 Seattle Mariners Insider: Adjustments pay off for surging Haniger. Don't look now, but for the last two weeks Seattle Mariners outfielder Mitch Haniger has looked like the Mitch Haniger who has stepped to the plate in big situations so many times in his Mariners career and had the look of a guy who could do damage. “He said it about 10 days ago, I'm about to get hot,” said Scott Servais following the Mariners' 6-5 series clinching win over the Phillies on Saturday. Over the past two weeks Haniger, who posted a .570 OPS in May and .601 in June, has run an OPS of 1.005 with a wRC+ of 186. In his walk-off interview on the field following the win Saturday, Haniger pointed to changes he recently made as leading to what he is doing at the plate currently.

6/11/24 3 early Mariners MLB trade deadline targets. The Seattle Mariners have been on the cusp of contention for a few years now but have been unable to break through. The Mariners are on pace to hit that 90-win mark again in 2024 but struggles from the rest of the AL West (no other team with a winning record) mean that Seattle carries a comfortable 5.5-game lead in the division. Here are three early Mariners trade targets ahead of the MLB trade deadline. A reunion with Mitch Haniger — a 2019 All-Star who finished 11th in the AL MVP voting that year — was supposed to offset the loss of free agent right fielder Teoscar Hernandez.
