The surging Mets got six shutout innings of one-hit ball from fill-in starter Tylor Megill, who retired his last 16 batters and matched a season high with nine strikeouts. New York bounced back after its nine-game winning streak was snapped Sunday by Cincinnati, moving a game ahead of Atlanta for the final National League wild card. The Mets had Alonso back in the cleanup spot for Tuesday's series opener in Colorado, a day after dropping him below the four-hole for the first time in nearly four years. Alonso batted fifth in Monday's 6-0 win in St. Louis, during which Tyrone Taylor delivered a three-run double during a rare start as the No. 2 hitter. Tyrone Taylor played his first five major league seasons with the Brewers and didn't love trips to Busch Stadium to face the NL Central rivals.
