Former Virginia baseball standout Chris Taylor (2010-12) and the Los Angeles Dodgers claimed their eighth World Series in franchise history and first since 2020 on Wednesday night (Oct. 30) with a dramatic come-from-behind 7-6 victory over the New York Yankees. With his second world championship, Taylor joins Javier Lopez as the only former Cavaliers with multiple World Series rings. Lopez won his first with the 2007 Boston Red Sox before teaming up with the San Francisco Giants for their sting of titles in 2010, 2012 and 2014. 8/24/24	Chris Taylor to have reduced role for Dodgers. Chris Taylor returned to the Los Angeles Dodgers this week after missing nearly a month due to a left groin strain. Before his injury, the 33-year-old was primarily seeing time at third base with Max Muncy on the shelf. Muncy has been sidelined due to a Grade 1 right oblique strain, and while he is progressing, we may not see him on the field until another few more weeks. The Los Angles Dodgers have a three-game losing streak for just the second time this season after they dropped the series opener to the Cincinnati Reds on Friday by a score of 9-6. The last time they lost three games in a row was back on April 20, which was immediately followed by their 14-2 record during the end of April and into May. The Dodgers' red-hot pace has since cooled down considerably since they began a span of 13 consecutive games.
