9/07/24 Kris Bryant “running out of time” to return to Rockies this season. Kris Bryant, who has struggled with injuries throughout his unproductive, three-year tenure with the Rockies, could be done for the season as he continues dealing with a chronic lower-back injury. Bryant, 32, has played just 159 games since signing a franchise-record, seven-year, $182 million free-agent contract in the spring of 2022. Bryant has not played since Aug. 6 and has been limited to 37 games this season, slashing .218/.323/.301 with two home runs. During his Rockies career, he's slashed .250/.332./.381 with 17 homers.

9/04/24 Rockies Mailbag: Why do pitchers rank last in strikeouts? Will Rox cut Kris Bryant loose?. Pose a Rockies- or MLB-related question for the Rockies Mailbag. Patrick, I moved to Denver a year ago, and this is my first season following the Rockies closely. One glaring deficiency I've observed is the complete inability of the Rockies' pitching staff to strike out batters. Heading into Tuesday night's game at Atlanta, Rockies pitchers ranked last in the majors with 943 strikeouts, and the Braves ranked first with 1,293.

8/21/24 Rockies Mailbag: Will Kris Bryant's future role diminish? Why play Jake Cave so much?. Pose a Rockies- or MLB-related question for the Rockies Mailbag. Is Kris Bryant stuck in the role of light-hitting, reserve outfielder with periodic DH duties? Alex, as I noted in my Sunday Rockies Journal, Bryant's future is one of the biggest question marks facing the Rockies. The club won't say it publicly, but there is frustration over Bryant's inability to stay on the field.

5/23/24 [Last Word on Sports] - Former First Round Pick’s Bleak Return to the Rockies Doesn’t Give Off Good Vibes. On Tuesday, the Colorado Rockies activated first baseman off of the IL. After missing 31 games, it looked like Bryant was to help the Rockies obtain another win streak. Although Colorado has split the first two games of a three-game series against the Oakland Athletics, Bryant's return has been bleak, and it hasn't given off any good vibes this team needs to continue their recent success. The former National League MVP's continues. During the final game against Oakland, the former all-star must make an effort to return to his former self. The Rockies need all the help they can get now at 16-32 after their 4-3 extra-inning win Wednesday night. With Bryant still in this huge offensive slump, there needs to be some way the team or Bryant can step up and deliver as we head into June. Kris Bryant Returns with No Good Vibes On Tuesday night, the Rockies fell 5-4 to the Athletics. In Bryant's return, he did not record a hit during four at-bats. The next game, Colorado won 4-3 in extra innings, when ripped a two-run home run during the top of the 12th inning. , and has really been one of the lone bright spots for the team. Even though the Rockies won, the former National League MVP went one for four with two walks. It's great that he was able to record a hit and take two disciplined walks. Kris Bryant may need some time to get used to Major League games after being out since April 13th. However, the team needs Bryant's production to return to his former self this season and beyond. His continued offensive struggles have been worrisome, and with four more years left on his deal with the Rockies, it's hard to see a way out other than to play him. The Rockies were recently on a as they won seven games in a row. Who says the team can't do that again with Bryant in the lineup? They did it once before, and they can certainly achieve a winning streak again with all the right pieces in place. If the former all-star continues to slump, there can be a chance when his career is all said in done that his seven-year contract with the Rockies may be the worst deal in MLB history. It's certainly possible, but Bryant needs to find some success at the plate if the Rockies have any hope to returning to contention in the near future. Bryant's 2024 Stats Thus Far The former National League MVP's 2024 regular season stats don't give off a good vibe whatsoever. He's played in 15 games thus far. In 55 at-bats, Kris Bryant has recorded eight hits, one home run, and six RBI. He has an atrocious stat line of .145/.277/.236. Out of his 55 at-bats, he's struck out 21 times. His best game of the season was back on April 12th during a 12-4 win over the Toronto Blue Jays. Bryant went two for five with two runs batted in. Hopefully, the 2016 NL MVP find his rhythm soon, but his bleak return may be daunting for this Rockies organization. The post appeared first on .
