9/16/24 2025 White Sox could be worst team in MLB history after offseason plan revealed. The Chicago White Sox currently own the worst winning percentage in the modern era of Major League Baseball and there's a chance they could do even worse next season. Chicago opened this season with a bad roster that has only gotten worse after it dealt Michael Kopech, Eloy Jimenez, Tommy Pham, Paul DeJong, and Erick Fedde at the MLB Trade Deadline.

9/03/24 Who Is Dodgers Prospect Edgardo Henriquez & Could He Debut In 2024?. Having one of the older reliever groups around the league, the Dodgers shuffling arms to sustain success isn't uncommon for this organization. At the trade deadline, they acquired Michael Kopech from the Chicago White Sox, who has shown his immense potential during his short time with the club. Aside from a few arms still working their way back from injury, a wild card name is Edgardo Henriquez, a 22-year-old flamethrower currently in Triple-A. Starting the year in Low-A Rancho Cucamonga, he's since risen through four levels in the Dodgers' farm system. Through 49 innings (38 games) between each Minor League level, Henriquez owns a 2.57 ERA, 1.12 WHIP, and 83 strikeouts.

9/01/24 Brady's Take: Chicago White Sox Trade Story From MLB Insider is Absolutely Absurd. Chicago White Sox fans should be hurt, embarrassed, and angry at ownership and the front office. The team is going to set the record for most losses in a season, eclipsing the 1962 Mets in futility. While the Los Angeles Dodgers are ecstatic they stole reliever Michael Kopech from the Chicago White Sox in their deal for utilityman Tommy Edman, the Kansas City Royals quietly are seething.

8/26/24 Michael Kopech felt a return to form before joining Dodgers. It did not take long for Michel Kopech to realize he had a chance to become immaculate. What the Dodgers' new late-inning, high-leverage reliever did not realize, in the moment, was that he was about to become resurgent. For starters, Kopech's team at the time, the downtrodden Chicago White Sox, were about to win a game. The White Sox already have lost 100 games this season, all before Labor Day, so it was a rare opportunity indeed.

8/19/24 Michael Kopech getting days off due to fatigue. Michael Kopech has been arguably the best reliever in MLB since joining the Los Angeles Dodgers, and they have relied on him as such. First joining the team as a setup man and picking up four holds, Kopech has now essentially become the Dodgers closer, and he's recorded two saves in his last two outings. Kopech still managed to pitch a perfect inning and record the save during Sunday's series finale against the St. Louis Cardinals, but he only averaged 96.7 mph on his fastball.

8/17/24 Michael Kopech Helps Dodgers Tie Franchise Record For Pitchers With Save. The Los Angeles Dodgers opened their series against the St. Louis Cardinals with a 7-6 victory that ended with Michael Kopech closing it out. With that, he also became the 12th Dodgers pitcher this season to record a save, which ties a franchise record that was set in 2022. Evan Phillips leads the way with 15 saves this season, while Daniel Hudson (nine) and Alex Vesia (five) are the only other Dodgers relievers with more than one.

8/16/24 Dave Roberts Not Ruling Out Michael Kopech As Dodgers Closer. The Los Angeles Dodgers' bullpen is among those in Major League Baseball with the highest usage, seeing a number of arms feel the effects of a large workload. At the trade deadline, the Dodgers acquired one of the most intriguing relief options available in Michael Kopech. Since joining the Dodgers, Kopech has expanded that intrigue, tallying seven straight scoreless appearances. Because the Dodgers have some uncertainty with the closer role as it currently stands, Kopech and his overpowering stuff have become a hot name for that role.

8/15/24 Dodgers' Kevin Kiermaier dishes on LA arrival after trade from Blue Jays. The Los Angeles Dodgers made headlines with blockbuster moves at the trade deadline. The team upgraded its pitching with the additions of reliever Michael Kopech and starter Jack Flaherty. This under-the-radar move has bolstered the Dodgers' defense while rejuvenating Kiermaier.

8/15/24 Michael Kopech went from 'dark times' to possible closer for first-place Dodgers. Mchael Kopech brought a 100-mph fastball to the Dodgers bullpen and could end up the team's closer soon.

8/14/24 Michael Kopech earning larger role in Dodgers bullpen. The Los Angeles Dodgers addressed their bullpen prior to the trade deadline with the addition of a struggling reliever in Michael Kopech. Despite Kopech's talent level as a former top prospect, he had posted a 4.74 ERA in 43.2 innings, and his career numbers were not much more encouraging. “It's just real top-end stuff,” Roberts said. When the Dodgers acquired Kopech, they believed in his upside and saw some changes he made that would lead to consistent success.

8/06/24 From No. 1 to 21: A closer look at the White Sox’s American League record-tying losing streak. OAKLAND, Calif. — Michael Kopech struck out Brooks Lee in three pitches to begin the ninth inning in Game 1 of a July 10 doubleheader at Guaranteed Rate Field. He needed just three more pitches to strike out the next batter, Matt Wallner. And when Kopech fanned Max Kepler on three pitches for the final out that afternoon against the Minnesota Twins, he completed the first immaculate inning for ...

8/04/24 Dodgers Believe Michael Kopech Is Trending Up. The Los Angeles Dodgers made multiple trades before the deadline, one of which brought in Michael Kopech from the Chicago White Sox to help their bullpen. After acquiring Kopech, the Dodgers remained connected to former Miami Marlins closer Tanner Scott, who was later traded to the Padres. In addition, Jhoan Duran of the Minnesota Twins and Mason Miller of the Oakland Athletics were also arms they checked in on.

7/30/24 Dodgers, Orioles among 'two most serious suitors' for best pitcher on trade market. The Los Angeles Dodgers' desire to add starting pitching at the trade deadline isn't a secret. Virtually all of the speculations about how they'd operate in the lead-up to the July 30th trade deadline tabbed them as a team that would aggressively pursue top-end help for their starting rotation. Los Angeles added reliever Michael Kopech and a pair of utility-men in Tommy Edman and Amed Rosario.

7/30/24 Royals' Bobby Witt Jr. aims to stay hot vs. reeling White Sox. The skidding Chicago White Sox traded closer Michael Kopech to the Los Angeles Dodgers on Monday as part of a three-team deal that also sent right-hander Erick Fedde and outfielder Tommy Pham to the St. Louis Cardinals. The White Sox unquestionably are sellers. Kansas City, meanwhile, is sticking around a tight American League wild-card race and remains sold on closer James McArthur, who shook recent woes by saving Monday's come-from-behind 8-5 victory in the series opener.
