9/18/24 Phillies a Slight Underdog for Wednesday Night's Clinch-Off in Milwaukee. The Phillies can clinch a playoff berth with a win behind Aaron Nola and a New York Mets loss to the Washington Nationals. Milwaukee can lock up the NL Central with a win or a Chicago Cubs loss to the Oakland Athletics.

9/14/24 Philadelphia Phillies Ace Must Avoid Recurring Issue in Postseason. While the Philadelphia Phillies own one of the top rotations in all of baseball, even their best pitchers have some bad habits to break. Aaron Nola eased his way through first few innings against the New York Mets before getting shelled in the fifth inning en route to giving up six runs on two three-run bombs. While Nola has been very good this season with a 3.62 ERA, he's been prone to give up big innings that usually derail his outings in a major way. Obviously, the fifth inning was a big inning.

9/13/24 Phillies a -145 Favorite in First of Two Pivotal Mets Series. Citizens Bank Park will have a hint of October in the air this weekend. The New York Mets are in town with a wild card berth on the line and the Phillies are still pursuing the best overall record in the National League and the home-field advantage that comes with it. The Phillies are a -145 favorite on the series line at DraftKings, but the pitching matchups aren't as strong as the previous two Atlanta series. Aaron Nola is leading off on Friday, Kolby Allard is penciled into the dreaded fifth rotation spot for Saturday, and the machine that is Cristopher Sanchez inside CBP heads to the bump on Sunday.

9/08/24 Former Maligned Philadelphia Phillies Infielder Reportedly Breaks His Foot. During this past offseason, the Philadelphia Phillies didn't do much when it came to bringing in players from the outside despite their disappointing elimination at home in the National League Championship Series. Instead, the front office prioritized re-signing Aaron Nola and extending Zack Wheeler to keep this one-two punch at the top of their rotation during this World Series window. The one notable move the Phillies made was bringing in superutilityman Whit Merrifield on a one-year, $8 million deal that looked like a bargain considering the veteran was coming off his third All-Star season in 2023. This forced Philadelphia to part ways with him on July 12 when they outright released him.

9/02/24 Philadelphia Phillies Hero Trolls ESPN Reporter After Walk-Off Hit vs. Braves. The Philadelphia Phillies kicked off September by battling the Atlanta Braves on Sunday Night Baseball, and the game was an instant classic. The fourth and final game of the Labor Day Weekend series at Citizens Bank Park between the NL East rivals was a tense pitching duel from beginning to end. The Braves scratched out a pair of runs off Aaron Nola before the Phillies returned the favor against Spencer Schwellenbach with three straight hits in the bottom of the sixth, tying the score at 2-2.

8/31/24 Marcus Hayes: Aaron Nola just passed Curt Schilling for Phillies wins, but he's more like Yankees legend Andy Pettitte. It was 90 degrees in the shade, except there's no shade in the Phillies' bullpen. Manager Rob Thomson could hardly believe his eyes. Aaron Nola had started the night before, and for Nola, now 31, the day after a start is a day off. Except the night before, against the Yankees, the Phillies thought he might be tipping his pitches when he came set in the stretch.

8/23/24 The Phillies' Aaron Nola pitches in Skechers. They fit him perfectly.. Aaron Nola lived for an offseason in a van, enjoys fishing, opted for pen and paper instead of a keyboard to write a thank-you note to Philadelphia, and shows so little emotion on the mound that it was notable two seasons ago when he simply tipped his cap to the crowd. “I think it's fitting for Noles,” said Phillies catcher Garrett Stubbs. Nola started wearing Skechers this season after the company — long known for selling supportive sneakers, uses Tony Romo to sell slip-ons, and calls itself “The Comfort Technology Company” — decided to expand its baseball portfolio. Bryce Harper wears his own Under Armour cleat, Chase Utley wore Adidas, Jimmy Rollins often sported Jordans, and Nola wears the brand he remembers as a kid for being “the old white shoe with the old S.”

8/13/24 3 biggest concerns Phillies must address after 2024 MLB trade deadline. The Philadelphia Phillies can withstand a slump thanks to a healthy cushion the team built in the first half of the year. The Diamondbacks outscored the Phillies 23-6 over the final two games of their weekend series, with starters Aaron Nola and Cristopher Sanchez combining to give up 11 runs (10 earned) over 9.2 innings. With a little over six weeks left in the regular season, there's plenty of time for the Phillies to plug the holes that have sprung up since the break.
