9/07/24 Cardinals try to stay ahead of potential Erick Fedde fatigue, see Nolan Arenado exit early. Cardinals trade-deadline acquisition and starting pitcher Erick Fedde found himself in relatively uncharted territory in more ways than one in his start Friday night against the Seattle Mariners. Fedde entered the night having already thrown more innings this season than any of his previous seasons in the majors, and the series opener against the Mariners also marked his 28th start of the season. Against the Mariners, Fedde also had to navigate the lineup without his usual pitch mix. Fedde, who is signed through next season, took the loss as the Cardinals fell 6-1 to the Mariners in front of an announced crowd of 37,476 at Busch Stadium.

8/31/24 What cost Cardinals the game at Yankee Stadium is why their offense can be so sluggish. It took starter Erick Fedde, a relative newcomer to the Cardinals' season, two sentences including one rhetorical question to illustrate accidentally how the offense's math has added up again and again to a pedestrian offense for the Cardinals. “What was it – like four hits I gave up?” Fedde said late Friday night in the visitors' clubhouse at Yankee Stadium. Fedde gave up fewer than half as many hits as Yankees starter Marcus Stroman and he struck out nearly twice as many.

8/26/24 Cardinals answer wake-up call: Day begins with hotel scramble, ends in 9th-inning stunner. When a water pipe burst and the call came at around 2:30 a.m. Sunday that Erick Fedde, like all of his teammates on the same flooded floor of their hotel, had to pack their things and leave their rooms, the right-hander had two bags to carry and 29 stories to walk down. Luken Baker scooped up the other bag and lugged it down to the lobby, where the Cardinals sat awaiting their next move. Two, Lars Nootbaar and Pedro Pages, would share a couch in Nolan Arenado's suite.

8/19/24 Cardinals Makes Perfect Sense For Hurler Expected To Land Three-Year Deal. The St. Louis Cardinals still are in contention for a National League Wild Card spot but will need to go back to the drawing board this upcoming offseason when it comes to the starting rotation. St. Louis currently is in second place in the National League Central with a disappointing 61-63 record. The Cardinals have struggled since the All-Star break despite a solid performance ahead of the 2024 Major League Baseball trade deadline. The Cardinals added Erick Fedde and Tommy Pham and seemed to be in a better spot but things haven't clicked.

8/10/24 Yankees All-Star Is Likely Trade Candidate With Cardinals Being Great Fit. The St. Louis Cardinals did a great job ahead of the 2024 Major League Baseball trade deadline. St. Louis addressed some serious needs by acquiring Erick Fedde and Tommy Pham to help the starting rotation and outfield. The Cardinals also added some bullpen help and currently are just 1 1/2 games out of a National League Wild Card spot. Although the Cardinals had a solid trade deadline, they certainly will have to make some tough decisions when the season comes to an end whether or not they make the playoffs.

8/07/24 Erick Fedde aims to lead Cardinals vs. Rays in home debut. After a rocky debut for the St. Louis Cardinals, right-hander Erick Fedde will look to rebound during his first start at home for his new team. Fedde (7-5, 3.34 ERA) will get the call for the Cardinals on Wednesday night in the middle contest of a three-game series with the visiting Tampa Bay Rays. 8/01/24 MLB rumors: Why Twins' Erick Fedde pursuit fell short at deadline. The Minnesota Twins were close to landing a big name at the MLB trade deadline. Starting pitcher Erick Fedde was a key piece of the haul for the Los Angeles Dodgers, but the Twins were very close to grabbing him, according to Dan Hayes from The Athletic. “They wanted one of those three, Walker Jenkins, who is the number 6 prospect, Brooks Lee, who is number 13, and Emmanuel Rodriguez, where depending on where you look he's 30 to 40 between multiple services,” Hayes reported on Foul Territory TV.

8/01/24 Tipsheet: Cardinals soar, Rangers sink after making trade deadline moves. Baseball's trade deadline has come and gone. The Cardinals emerged from the activity looking energized, ready to stay in the playoff chase. Conversely, the defending World Champion Texas Rangers lagged. The Cardinals clubbed the Texas Rangers 8-1 and 10-1 the last two days after trading for Erick Fedde, Tommy Pham and Shawn Armstrong while subtracting only Dylan Carlson from their active roster.

7/31/24 Here are 3 White Sox players who could be traded this offseason. The White Sox made a flurry of trades ahead of the MLB trade deadline, dishing the likes of Eloy Jiménez, Erick Fedde, Michael Kopech, Paul DeJong and Tanner Banks. However, they held on to some players they were expected to trade. But the team could revisit trade opportunities in the offseason, should they please. That being said, here are three...

7/31/24 Tipsheet: Dodgers, Padres lead the charge with trade deadline gains. The big-budget Los Angeles Dodgers went crazy ahead of the trade deadline, adding a small army of players and creating a Jack Flaherty/Tommy Edman reunion. The San Diego Padres were ultra-aggressive as well, making them the team to beat in the National League wild card chase. The Cardinals were busy too, albeit with a more measured approach. For them, the value of acquiring starting pitcher Erick Fedde from the historically bad Chicago White Sox was underscored by the fact that top starters Garrett Crochet, Blake Snell and Tarik Skubal did not move ahead of the trade deadline.
