6/07/24 2024 London Series No Longer Using Former Dodgers Relief Pitcher On Marketing Poster. Preparation for the 2024 MLB London Series is in full effect across the pond, and Jake Reed, a former pitcher with the Los Angeles Dodgers, made a surprise appearance. This year's London Series is between the New York Mets and the Philadelphia Phillies. It features superstars including Bryce Harper, Trea Turner, Zack Wheeler, Pete Alonso and Francisco Lindor.

1/17/24 2023 Los Angeles Dodgers Player Reviews: Victor González. Victor González emerged as a key contributor in his rookie season to help the Los Angeles Dodgers win the 2020 World Series, but struggled to remain healthy and replicate that success in ensuing years. After not pitching for the Dodgers at all during the 2022 season, González received an early callup last year as the corresponding move to Jake Reed getting designated for assignment on April 22. The left-hander remained with the team until getting optioned back to Triple-A Oklahoma City on July 3. González returned in early August but initially was only with the Dodgers for two days.

1/01/24 2023 Los Angeles Dodgers Player Reviews: Jake Reed. Jake Reed returned to the Los Angeles Dodgers organization in November 2022, when he was claimed off waivers from the Boston Red Sox. The right-hander had originally joined the Dodgers during the 2021 season, but then went on to join the Tampa Bay Rays and New York Mets as well. Reed was back with the Dodgers in 2022, only to finish that season with the Baltimore Orioles before joining the Red Sox in the offseason.

12/19/23 2023 Dodgers in review: Jake Reed. For a third consecutive season, Jake Reed pitched in the majors for the Dodgers despite starting and ending each year off of the 40-man roster. Reed pitched in one game for the Dodgers this season — we'll get to that shortly — and otherwise spent the entire season with Triple-A Oklahoma City. Since then, Reed has been optioned to the minors 13 different times, designated for assignment eight times, and claimed off waivers six times. The Dodgers claimed Reed off waivers from the Red Sox in November 2022, slightly more than a month after Boston had claimed him from the Orioles that offseason.

4/29/23 Dodgers News: Jake Reed Assigned To Triple-A Oklahoma City After Clearing Waivers. Jake Reed cleared waivers and was assigned to Triple-A Oklahoma City after being designated for assignment by the Los Angeles Dodgers last week to remove him from their 40-man roster. Because Reed had previously been outrighted in his career, he had the right to refuse the Minor League assignment. Although he's accepted it, the right-hander has yet to appear in a game since returning to Oklahoma City. The Dodgers put Reed on waivers as the corresponding move to recalling Victor González from OKC On April 22.

Author: Noah Camras Publish date: Apr 27, 2023 11:00 AM EDT In this story: Los Angeles Dodgers New York Mets Baltimore Orioles Tampa Bay Rays Los Angeles Angels Minnesota Twins Boston Red Sox Chicago Cubs Jake Reed has had quite the rollercoaster of an MLB career thus far. The right-hander has been a part of eight organizations in his career, and has done a lot of moving around. Let's jump right in: Reed was drafted by the Minnesota Twins in the 2014 MLB Draft, but never played for their big league ball club. He was there for a while, before moving on, and signing minor league deal with the Los

4/22/23 Dodgers Roster: Victor González Recalled, Jake Reed Designated For Assignment. The Los Angeles Dodgers recalled Victor González from Triple-A Oklahoma City and designated Jake Reed for assignment prior to Saturday's game against the Chicago Cubs. It's a seventh consecutive day with a Dodgers roster move after the team was unusually inactive for their first 15 games of the season. González joins the Dodgers bullpen for the first time since 2021, when he struggled to build off an impressive rookie season. The left-handed relief pitcher had a strong showing in Spring Training last year but was surprisingly placed on the 10-day injured list due to elbow inflammation when the 2022 Dodgers Opening Day roster was set.

4/22/23 Dodgers notes: Roster roulette, inconsistencies, team payroll. Friday was the sixth consecutive day the Dodgers made a roster move. Jake Reed got the call up from Triple-A with Michael Grove landing on the injured list with a right groin strain, then promptly allowed six runs while recording two outs in a forgettable blowout loss to the Cubs.

4/21/23 Ex-Mets reliever gets promotion. The Los Angeles Dodgers have selected the contract of Jake Reed, the club announced Friday. The move comes after the Dodgers placed right-hander Michael Grove on the 15-day injured list with a groin strain. Reed split the 2022 season between the Baltimore Orioles, Dodgers and New York Mets, going a combined 2-0 with a 7.02 ERA in 18 appearances.

3/21/23 Dodgers send pitchers Gavin Stone, Jake Reed, Adam Kolarek to minor league camp. The Dodgers on Tuesday made their third round of roster cuts this spring training, sending three non-roster pitchers to minor league camp. Right-handers Gavin Stone and Jake Reed, and left-hander Adam Kolarek were reassigned to the other side of Camelback Ranch. Stone wowed this spring, picking up right where he left off last season, when he won the Branch Rickey Award as the Dodgers minor league pitcher of the year after posting a 1.48 ERA across three levels with a 33.9-percent strikeout rate.

2/20/23 Dodgers notes: Jake Reed, MLB arbitration results, pitch timer. Speaking of the optimism of spring training, Dodgers reliever Jake Reed worked with Driveline Baseball this offseason to develop a new pitch. Alex Fast on Saturday shared video of the right-hander's sinker and split-fingered fastball. Per Baseball Savant, Reed has not yet thrown a splitter in his two major league seasons. Against left-handers, he threw his sinker 40 percent of the time (though we're talking about only 106 total pitches thrown to lefties in 2021-22).

1/06/23 Dodgers Roster: Jake Reed Sent Outright To Triple-A Oklahoma City. Jake Reed cleared waivers and was sent outright to Triple-A Oklahoma City, removing him from the Los Angeles Dodgers’ 40-man roster. This marked the first time in Reed’s career he was outrighted off a roster. He additionally did not have the requisite service time to reject the Minor League assignment.

1/05/23 Dodgers outright Jake Reed to Triple-A Oklahoma City. Jake Reed’s next baseball stop will have to wait a bit longer. The right-hander cleared waivers and was sent outright to Triple-A Oklahoma City by the Dodgers on Thursday. Reed has not been outrighted previously in his career, and with 140 days in the majors lacks the service time to refuse a minor league assignment, so he’ll stick around in the organization for a little while.

12/31/22 Former Dodgers Reliever Finds Himself in Familiar Territory. On Dec. 29th, the Dodgers decided to designate reliever Jake Reed for assignment in order to clear up room for their shiny new toy, J.D. Martinez. The 35-year-old designated hitter officially signed a one-year, $10 million deal with the Dodgers. Jake Reed will now most likely find himself with a new team for the upcoming season after posting a 7.02 ERA across 16.2 innings split between the Dodgers, Mets, and Orioles.

10/14/22 Red Sox Tweak 40-Man Roster By Swapping Out Relievers. The Red Sox won’t be able to do any heavy lifting until after the World Series, but that isn’t stopping chief baseball officer Chaim Bloom from working in the margins with an eye toward improving Boston’s depth for 2023 and beyond. The Red Sox on Thursday claimed right-handed reliever Jake Reed off waivers from the Baltimore Orioles. To make room on the 40-man roster, Boston designated fellow righty Eduard Bazardo for assignment.
