9/17/24 Break up the White Sox! South Siders win 3rd straight for first time since late June. ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) — It took almost three months, but the White Sox are on a three-game winning streak again. Andrew Benintendi homered twice for the third time this season and drove in four runs, and the White Sox beat the Los Angeles Angels, 8-4, out West on Monday night for their first three-game winning […]

9/15/24 White Sox encouraged by Andrew Benintendi's strong finish. Signed to a five-year, $75 million pact before the 2023 season that still stands as the richest contract in team history, Andrew Benintendi has struggled to live up to that deal as the White Sox have plummeted to the bottom of the sport. Recently, Benintendi has shown signs of life. Entering Sunday's game against the Athletics, Benintendi was slashing .284/.358/.552 since July 31, capped by his walk-off home run Saturday. “It's really good to see just how he's handled everything,” interim manager Grady Sizemore said.

9/15/24 Benintendi hits a game-ending homer as the White Sox stop their home slide with 7-6 win over A's. Andrew Benintendi hit a leadoff homer in the ninth inning, and the Chicago White Sox stopped a 16-game home losing streak by edging the Oakland Athletics 7-6. Benintendi, Luis Robert Jr., Nicky Lopez and Lenyn Sosa each had three hits for Chicago, which had dropped four in a row overall. Lopez finished with three RBIs. The home slide was a franchise record. At 34-115, the White Sox are hoping to avoid the majors’ post-1900 record for losses — 120 by the 1962 New York Mets in their inaugural season.

BALTIMORE — Eloy Jiménez stood between the third-base line and the visitor’s dugout while the Baltimore Orioles wrapped up batting practice on Tuesday afternoon at Camden Yards. 8/19/24 White Sox' Andrew Benintendi shows signs of life after 'terrible' first half. Andrew Benintendi got the night off Monday, at least from the starting lineup against Giants left-hander Kyle Harrison. After an awful start, the White Sox left fielder has produced more in line with what was expected when the Sox signed him to a five-year, $75 million contract before last season. “It feels good to get back into it,” said Benintendi, who had hit safely in 11 of his last 12 games entering Monday. Benintendi is batting .216/.269/.366 with 13 homers in 102 games.

8/12/24 White Sox' Andrew Benintendi: 'It's good to see these past few weeks that it's coming together'. Hitting has been at the forefront of issues plaguing the White Sox this season as they endure the worst season in team history. Entering Sunday's games, the Sox (28-91) are last in the majors in runs scored (3.08), OPS (.619) and tied for last in batting average (.217). While it takes many underperforming hitters to tank a lineup to this degree, left fielder Andrew Benintendi's struggles have been magnified given his five-year, $75 million contract he signed in December 2022. Benintendi has slashed .242/.303/.359 in 247 games with the Sox, not resembling the hitter he was earlier in his career.

6/26/24 Sorry, Andrew Benintendi, but the White Sox' season is actually a lot uglier than it seems. ''It might look a lot uglier than it actually is,'' White Sox outfielder Andrew Benintendi said Tuesday. What you see is what you get, which is why some Sox fans are asking where they can donate their eyeballs. Benintendi's team had just lost another game, making them 21-60 at the midpoint of the season.

6/21/24 White Sox lose to Tigers on an unfortunate mental error from Paul DeJong. The White Sox lost a heartbreaker to the Tigers in Detroit on Friday night, 2-1. But the loss stung a little more than others on account of the way it ended. 6/20/24 Andrew Benintendi and the pursuit of the lowest WAR season ever. The past few seasons in MLB have certainly tested that hope for some teams and, by extension, the players on those teams. It's unavoidable, because bad teams invariably feature players having bad seasons.
