9/09/24 Houston Astros Slugger Selected as Nominee for Prestigious MLB Award. Houston Astros right fielder Kyle Tucker has been named the team's nominee for the Roberto Clemente Award, Major League Baseball announced on Monday. Each team has one nominee for the annual award, which is named for the legendary Pittsburgh Pirates outfielder. The only Astros player to win the award is Baseball Hall-of-Fame member Craig Biggio, who was selected in 2007. Tucker recently returned from a long stint on the injured list after he suffered a fracture in his right shin in June.

9/06/24 Return of the 'King': Kyle Tucker back with Houston Astros after 3-month absence due to injury. The "King" has reentered the building. On Friday, the Houston Astros announced they activated Kyle Tucker from the 60-day injured list and confirmed that the All-Star outfielder would be in the lineup when the club faces the Arizona Diamondbacks. The Astros said they optioned rookie infielder Zach Dezenzo to Triple-A Sugar Land and designated pitcher Parker Mushinski for assignment to make room for Tucker on the roster. The 27-year-old's return has been a long time coming since he went down with what was originally called a shin contusion on June 3 when a foul ball hit his leg while batting.

9/06/24 Astros' Kyle Tucker gets extremely important injury update. The Houston Astros expect to receive a huge boost this weekend with the return of All-Star outfielder Kyle Tucker. MLB.com reports the Astros hope Tucker, who's been out since June 3 after fouling a ball off his right leg, will be available to start Friday as a designated hitter. Astros manager Joe Espada said Tucker is looking better and the right fielder will slot into the DH role once or twice a week. “He ran, and hopefully we could get him in there in the series against the D-backs,” Espada said, per MLB.com.

9/05/24 Philadelphia Phillies Urged To Pursue Superstar Slugger This Offseason. The Philadelphia Phillies were one of the teams considered to be interested in traded for one of the top sluggers at the MLB trade deadline, and are urged to continue that pursuit into the offseason. Houston Astros superstar Kyle Tucker is going to be entering the last year of team control next season and a recent development could make him available for trade in the winter. Zach Pressnell of FanSided suggested the Phillies should be right back to the top of the list of teams contacting the Astros about Tucker once this year ends.

9/02/24 Kyle Tucker's real injury is more serious than Astros are revealing. The Houston Astros remain in the driver's seat in the American League West with a comfortable six-game lead over the Seattle Mariners. On the other hand, the Astros have been hoping to get Kyle Tucker back from injury for the final month of the regular season. On Monday, a report came out that showed the extent of Tucker's injury, which appears to be more serious than previously thought, per Chandler Rome of The Athletic. 'Houston Astros outfielder Kyle Tucker has missed nearly three months with a fractured shin, sources briefed on the matter said, not a “deep bruise of the bone” or “shin contusion” as the club has called it since he went on the injured list.

9/01/24 Joe Espada's 2-word Kyle Tucker injury update will excite Astros fans. The Houston Astros (74-62) have a five-game lead in the American League West and are looking like the New York Yankees' biggest obstacle to reaching the World Series. What is most terrifying, however, is that Houston has been without one of its best players for the last three months. Manager Joe Espada says that outfielder Kyle Tucker is “really close” to making his return, according to MLB.com's Brian McTaggart. The Astros have not yet decided if he will join them for their upcoming road series against the Cincinnati Reds.

8/30/24 Astros aim to benefit from bench play in rematch vs. Royals. With their outfield production qualifying as suboptimal since the loss of injured All-Star Kyle Tucker in early June, the Astros' recent additions of veterans Ben Gamel and Jason Heyward might fill voids and also lengthen a Houston bench overly reliant upon inexperience. While Gamel and Heyward contributed to the Astros' 6-3 win over the Kansas City Royals in the opener of a four-game series on Thursday, it was the bench depth utilized by Houston manager Joe Espada that could pay dividends beyond this series.

8/29/24 Astros' Kyle Tucker reveals latest injury update. The Houston Astros lost starting right fielder Kyle Tucker to a shin injury in early June. During his near three-month absence from the lineup the Astros have been uncertain about a return timeline for Tucker. Tucker said he's been able to do light running on the bases as he builds his strength back up after being out of action for so long, according to the Houston Chronicle's Matt Kawahara on X. The team originally placed Tucker on the 10-day injured list after he fouled a ball off his shin in a game against the St. Louis Cardinals on June 3.

8/21/24 Astros GM's Kyle Tucker Declaration Will Fire Up Fans. Houston Astros fans have been waiting to see the return of star Kyle Tucker as he has missed the majority of the summer with a shin contusion, caused by hitting a foul ball off the injured area in early June. While there has not been a set time table for his return, there was finally one given by Astros general manager Dana Brown. Brown would speak to a local radio station of SportsTalk790 where he talked about Tucker's injury and a possible return schedule for the 27-year old outfielder. In terms of a date, Brown is “hoping” to see Tucker back in the lineup in the “first week of September” according to Leah Vann of The Chron.

8/04/24 Astros' Kyle Tucker Gets Cryptic Injury Update. It has been two months since Houston Astros star Kyle Tucker hit a foul ball off his right shin resulting in missing every game up until that point making stints on multiple injured lists. Fast forward to the present and there is not a clear timetable for the return of the Astros outfielder as manager Joe Espada tries to give the media and fans all the information possible to know what the player is up to. The injury is being specifically labeled as a “right shin contusion” where before, his statistics consisted of a .266 batting average, 19 home runs, and 40 runs batted in (RBIs). Espada would be asked if there is a chance that Tucker can come back before the month of August is completed which led to a hesitant response from the skipper according to The Houston Chronicle.

8/03/24 Houston Astros Biggest Concern Is When Their Superstar Will Return. The Houston Astros have played great baseball over the past two months but have struggled a bit throughout their last 10 games. Currently 4-6 in that span, the Astros are still tied for first place in the American League West. What makes their stretch over the past two months even more impressive is the fact that Kyle Tucker hasn't played in a game since June 3. When at his best, there's a strong argument that Tucker might be one of the best hitters in baseball, if not the best pure hitter in the league.
