5/10/24 Red Sox News: Top prospect suffers season-ending injury, Rangers sign former pitcher. A former Boston Red Sox pitcher has found a new home in the American League West. The reigning World Series champion Texas Rangers have signed Kyle Barraclough to a minor-league deal. The lefty is an eight-year MLB veteran and he spent the 2023 season with the Red Sox organization. Barraclough has appeared in just 21 MLB games in the past three seasons — both Boston and Texas signed him from the unaffiliated High Point Rockers.

10/11/23 Red Sox News & Links: What Will The Coaching Staff Look Like?. People probably aren't focusing much attention on the open third base coaching position in light of the fact that the Red Sox still need to find someone to take over the entire operations, but nevertheless, here's a look at some candidates for coaching vacancies. It wasn't a very successful stint in Boston for Barraclough, but it was interesting one. “The Kyle Barraclough game” will be remembered around these parts for a long time.

8/29/23 How Are The Red Sox This Stupid?. The Red Sox were defenestrated by the Astros on Monday night when they ran out of pitchers and made poor Kyle Barraclough suffer what was probably the worst night of his professional life, as he was battered to hell and back by a fire-breathing Astros team in a 13-5 loss that, along with Jarren Duran's season-ending injury, may have ended their playoff hopes. If the Sox's playoff window was open at all, the Astros may have firmly shut it, behind a career night for the freakishly talented second baseman that they paid up for... unlike the Sox and Mookie Betts, who just got through with his own poetic on-field Boston-bashing. Maybe shopping near-exclusively at the dollar store for parts cannot help but trap all of Red Sox nation in a crowded, loud room, arguing over who's really the problem with the little oxygen we have left, the closed window dooming us to repeat these arguments over and over and over. Both the editor of this site and Jared Carrabis, among many others, expressed how happy they are to see Mookie thriving in L.A. Stockholm Syndrome is real, people!

8/12/23 Red Sox Reportedly Option Reliever To Activate Garrett Whitlock. With the season winding down, the Red Sox made yet another highly-anticipated roster re-addition, prior to Boston's series finale with the Tigers at Fenway Park on Sunday. The Red Sox reportedly optioned relief pitcher Kyle Barraclough to Triple-A Worcester in order to make roster space for right-hander pitcher Garrett Whitlock, according to Christopher Smith of MassLive. Whitlock will come activated after having missed the past month-plus (32 games) with right elbow inflammation. Upon Whitlock's arrival, it's expected that the Red Sox utilize the 27-year-old in a relief pitcher role, where he's flourished in the past with Boston.

8/10/23 Red Sox Newcomer Addresses 'Doubt' Before Late-Season Call-Up. Kyle Barraclough's patience was tested up until the right-hander struck an opportunity to pitch for the Boston Red Sox this season. Barraclough, who last pitched for the Los Angeles Angels in 2022, has made 288 previous big league appearances — all as a reliever. “With how the year started and the doubt that creeps in with not being able to find a job, this is definitely a promotion that's up there with my debut,” Barraclough told WEEI's Rob Bradford on Audacy Sports' “Baseball Isn't Boring” podcast.

8/09/19 Giants claim Kyle Barraclough from Nationals. It's “if you claim a guy off waivers he's all yours” season, and the Giants just claimed a guy off waivers: reliever Kyle Barraclough, most recently with the Washington Nationals. Barraclough had a beastly 6.66 ERA in 33 appearances for the Nats this year, offering more than his fair share of assistance to that club's bullpen woes. He still strikes out a lot of guys — 10.5 per nine innings — and his walk rate is actually better this year than it was last year.
