12/15/23 Brewers acquire an arm. The Milwaukee Brewers traded away a couple of minor league prospects to the Kansas City Royals to acquire right handed relief pitcher Taylor Clarke. Clarke has been on big league clubs for the past five years, playing a bit for Arizona before joining the Royals where he appeared in 58 games last season with two starts. His earned run average was a beefy 5.95. Clarke becomes the 39th player on Milwaukee's 40 man roster. The Brewers sent pitcher Ryan Brady and infielder Cam Devenney to the Royals in return for Clarke who's expected to make a strong bid to become a part of Milwaukee's bullpen in 2024.

McCormick clubbed his 22nd homer off Royals reliever Collin Snider, who rallied with strikeouts of pinch-hitter Jon Singleton and Jose Altuve to strand Jeremy Pena in scoring position.

4/21/23 Royals vs. Angels Friday game thread. The Royals embark on a ten-game road trip, which may be a good thing considering they have dropped 12 of 13 at home this year. Tonight the Royals will take on the Angels, but will face a daunting pitching matchup with Taylor Clarke scheduled to start in place of the injured Kris Bubic against one of the best pitchers in baseball in Shohei Ohtani. Ohtani has allowed just two runs in his four starts so far, and is allowing opponents to hit just .091/.268/.121. Clarke isn't stretched out, so expect him to fill an “opener” role, going an inning or two before handing off to lefty Ryan Yarbrough to sop up the middle innings.

8/10/22 Not Enough Is Being Made of KC Royals' Taylor Clarke Loss. Prior to Tuesday's doubleheader split against the Chicago White Sox, the Kansas City Royals placed RHP Taylor Clarke on the 15-day injured list with a left oblique strain. The move was retroactive to the day prior so that buys the club 24 hours of time in long-term theory, but the point remains that a couple of Clarke-less weeks will be in Kansas City's future. For a bullpen that ranks 28th in Major League Baseball with a 4.56 ERA, that's a serious blow.

Hitters jumped at that.

3/21/21 Diamondbacks 4, White Sox 4: First recap rewrite of 2021.... Taylor Clarke looked very good in his penultimate outing before the regular season gets under way. He worked four scoreless innings, on two hits and no walks. Throwing an economical 47 pitches, his only glitch was a two-out triple in the fourth, which Daulton Varsho could perhaps have done better handling.

9/25/20 Diamondbacks 11, Rockies 5: Twin killing. The zero here lasted just one out, in fact, as the Rockies then got a double followed by an RBI single. But Taylor Clarke picked a runner off first to help prevent further damage. And the Diamondbacks rebounded immediately, taking the lead back without recording an out, on David Peralta's 2-RBI single (below), as their first five hitters reached.
