8/26/24	Seattle Mariners Trade Acquisition Tearing it Up in Minor Leagues Right Now. Seattle Mariners infielder Luis Urias is absolutely scorching right now at Triple-A Tacoma. Urias, who was optioned to Triple-A Tacoma on May 24, sports a .382 average and 1.093 OPS across 40 plate appearances over his last nine games with the Rainiers. Urias has been a mainstay for the Triple-A club since his demotion, but his current stretch, which includes two doubles, two home runs, eight RBI, five walks, a stolen base and 11 runs, has easily been his best yet while down on the farm. 9/05/23	Brandon Lowe's three-run homer beats Red Sox in 11 innings. The Red Sox broke through for their first lead in the top of the 11th when Luis Urias punched in the go-ahead single that second baseman Lowe couldn't haul in. With the infield drawn in and Rob Refsnyder, the automatic runner, reaching third on an Erasmo Ramirez wild pitch, Urias's blooper sent Lowe toward short right field. Lowe appeared as though he came up with the ball cleanly, but it instead bounced out of his glove. To make room for Urias on the roster, the club had to part ways with a veteran infielder. Second baseman Christian Arroyo was designated for assignment before Friday's game vs. the Toronto Blue Jays, the team announced. Despite an obvious need for pitching, the Red Sox made just one minor move at Tuesday's deadline, acquiring scuffling Milwaukee Brewers infielder Luis Urias and optioning him to Triple-A Worcester. The team's inactivity was puzzling: Not only did Boston fail to find trade partners for veterans Adam Duvall, Alex Verdugo and James Paxton -- all of whom reportedly had interest from other teams -- but Bloom also declined to improve his squad and even declared the Red Sox "underdogs" despite them entering Tuesday just 2.5 games out of a wild card spot at 56-50.
