With 2:57 left in the first quarter Sunday, Geno Smith took a shotgun snap, looked left and saw a 6-foot-4, 235-pound blur behind the defense. Under the direction of rookie head coach Jerod Mayo the Pats ran the ball really well and played tight defense throughout Sunday's game. When Seahawks' quarterback Geno Smith hit wide-open running back Zach Charbonnet down the right side for a 30-yard touchdown pass that turned out to be the game-winning play? In fact, Jones sat out that entire six-play, 80-yard drive that Seattle sandwiched between the end of the third quarter and start of the fourth as he was on a “pitch count” because of his hamstring injury. Contained within was one piece of news that formed the basis of the story — a quote from longtime NFL Network reporter Mike Garafolo, who is known to be especially plugged in to all things Seahawks, during an appearance last week on the podcast of Jason Puckett, the former longtime Sports Radio 93.3 KJR personality who hosts his own podcast.
