Brandon Lowe hit a two-run shot -- one of three Tampa Bay homers in the fifth inning -- as the Rays rolled to an 8-3 win over the Boston Red Sox on Tuesday night to open the Rays' final homestand of the regular season in St. Petersburg, Fla. 9/13/24	Brandon Lowe homers, Tampa Bay's bullpen shuts down AL Central-leading Guardians for 5-2 win. Brandon Lowe homered, Tampa Bay’s bullpen held Cleveland to one hit over seven innings and the Rays snapped a three-game losing streak with a 5-2 win over the Guardians. Lowe connected for his 18th homer in the first inning. The Rays were swept earlier this week in a three-game series at Philadelphia. They improved to 3-4 on their 10-game trip, which started in Baltimore and finishes Sunday in Cleveland. Tampa Bay will be the first MLB team to face three division leaders on the same trip in September or later. 9/12/24	Rays Take Opener From Guardians. The Tampa Bay Rays (72-75) defeated the Cleveland Guardians (84-63) 5-2 on Thursday night. With the win, the Rays snapped their losing skid at three games. Brandon Lowe homered in the first inning to give the Rays an early lead. Cleveland took a 2-1 lead with single runs in the first and the second, but the Rays took the lead back in the fourth with two runs to make it 3-2. The Rays got insurance runs in both the eighth and ninth inning to clinch the 5-2 victory. The Rays and Guardians now prepare to meet in the second game of the four-game series on Friday evening. Yordan Alvarez had two of the team's three hits in the setback. Starting pitcher Spencer Arrighetti was charged with the loss and dropped to 4-and-10 after striking out a dozen batters and allowing one run through six innings. 6/22/24	Pirates Even Series With Rays. The Pittsburgh Pirates (37-39) defeated the Tampa Bay Rays (37-40) 4-3 on Saturday afternoon in Pittsburgh. The win snaps Tampa Bay's winning streak at three games. The Rays scored in the top of the first when Brandon Lowe scored on a groundout from Josh Lowe. The Pirates answered with a solo homer from Oneil Cruz in the bottom of the first, before getting three runs in the third off Zach Eflin (3-5, 4.20). All told Eflin finished the game allowing four earned runs on five hits in seven innings in which he struck out six and walked one. That would prove to be enough, as the Rays offense added one in the fourth and another in the ninth but could not overcome and Pittsburgh would earn the 4-3 win. Brandon Lowe capped Tampa Bay’s four-run ninth inning with a three-run homer, lifting the Rays to a 5-2 victory over the struggling Chicago Cubs. Richie Palacios started the rally with a leadoff double against Héctor Neris. Ben Rortvedt reached on a one-out walk before José Caballero’s RBI single tied it at 2.
