9/07/24 'Excited To Prove Them Wrong.' DFA'd Texas Rangers Reliever Made Small Change After Joining Los Angeles Angels. Brock Burke wants to make the Texas Rangers pay. The left-hander reliever is still smarting over being designated for assignment by the Rangers on Aug. 11 after a tumultuous few months. Burke, 28, was claimed by the Los Angeles Angels a few days later and has been a different pitcher — or, at least has an entirely different stat line since arriving in Anaheim. "I don't know how you DFA a guy that's throwing 100 miles an hour from the left side," Burke said before throwing a perfect inning of relief against his old team on Friday night.

8/29/24 Angels encouraged by lefty relievers José Quijada, Brock Burke. José Quijada and Brock Burke have worked themselves up on the organizational bullpen depth chart in the past month. “I firmly see them as a huge part of our plans,” Angels pitching coach Barry Enright said Thursday. The Angels have struggled in recent years getting consistent work from a left-handed reliever who could dominate left-handed hitters. Lefty Matt Moore was effective last year, but he's better against righties.

8/22/24 Angels’ Griffin Canning pitches well after opener, but it’s too late. Relievers Brock Burke and Mike Baumann combine to give up five runs in the second inning before Canning pitches six scoreless innings in a 5-3 loss to the Blue Jays. Niko Kavadas hits a three-run homer in the ninth for his first major league hit.

8/14/24 Angels take a flier on lefty Brock Burke, who was a dominant reliever in 2022. Brock Burke pulled on a new uniform on Wednesday, and he hoped it would be a fresh start for his season. “It's definitely been a very down season so far,” said Burke, a left-hander the Angels claimed on waivers Tuesday and added to the active roster on Wednesday. Burke, 28, had a 9.22 ERA in 13 games with the Texas Rangers this season. “I just think I need to get out there and pitch,” Burke said.

8/13/24 AL West Rival Claims Former Texas Rangers Reliever. The Los Angeles Angels claimed former Texas Rangers reliever Brock Burke off waivers on Tuesday, less than 48 hours after the Rangers designated him for assignment. The left-hander, once one of the top pitchers on the team and a member of last year's World Series team, missed 52 games after he punched a wall in the Minute Maid Park clubhouse in Houston after a bad outing. When he returned from the injury, his place in the bullpen wasn't secure and he spent a significant portion of his post-IL stint with Triple-A Round Rock. Last season Burke was a valuable piece of the bullpen.

8/04/24 Here We Go Again! Another Texas Rangers Pitcher Out With Injury. Suddenly, Texas Rangers pitchers are dropping like flies again. Left-hander Jacob Latz was placed on the 15-day injured list with left forearm tightness before Sunday's series finale against the Boston Red Sox. Lefty Brock Burke was called up from Triple-A Round Rock. Rangers manager Bruce Bochy said the club doesn't have any long-term concerns about Latz, who has pitched in a team-high 46 games in 2024.

6/12/24 'Worst Day Of My Career.' Brock Burke Back In Texas Rangers Bullpen After Breaking Hand In Frustration. Brock Burke was back in the Texas Rangers clubhouse and in the bullpen for Wednesday's game against the Los Angeles Dodgers. Two months ago to the day, Burke left the mound after a frustrating appearance at Minute Maid Park and punched a door leading to the team's clubhouse. Burke, 27, was embarrassed by his performance that night and absolutely humiliated for letting his frustrations get the best of him. To make room for Burke, Grant Anderson was optioned back to Triple-A Round Rock and Derek Hill was outrighted.

4/13/24 Rangers' reliever Burke breaks his non-throwing hand after punching a wall following a poor outing. Texas Rangers reliever Brock Burke broke his non-throwing hand while punching a wall following a poor outing Friday night against the Houston Astros. Manager Bruce Bochy said Burke, who is a left-hander, broke his right hand when he punched the wall “out of frustration" and was placed on the injured list Saturday. The Astros were unhappy at Burke's plunking of the elbow of slugger Yordan Alvarez after almost hitting him on three previous pitches inside.

3/13/23 2022 in review: Brock Burke. With the 2022 regular season over, it is that time where we go back and take a look at the players who appeared for the Texas Rangers this past season. Today, we look at relief pitcher Brock Burke. One of the clear success stories of 2022 was Brock Burke. After undergoing shoulder surgery that cost him all of 2020, Burke spent the 2021 season in the Round Rock rotation and was not good, putting up a 5.68 ERA in 77 innings over 21 appearances.

8/21/22 Sunday morning Rangers things. Good morning, folks... The Texas Rangers beat the Minnesota Twins by a score of 4-3 last night. Evan Grant’s game story observes that Tony Beasley utilized Brock Burke and Jonathan Hernandez in the victory differently than they’ve been used all season.

6/08/22 26-30 - Rangers felled by Guardians in rain-soaked rubber match. The Texas Rangers didn’t score while the Cleveland Guardians plated four runs. The rain that marred Texas’ entire trip to Ohio made us wait all evening to watch the Rangers get shut out and drop the series so I’m pulling out the all-time greatest diss track for a city in honor of ol’ Moses’ town: Player of the Game: Brock Burke came out on the other side of the rain delay and tossed a couple of scoreless innings but that’s about as good as it gets for Texas tonight.

6/03/22 Rangers recall Allard, option Reks. I’m not entirely sure what the purpose of this move is. It gets the Rangers back to a nine man bullpen and three man bench. Maybe Brock Burke and Garrett Richards each going two innings last night has the Rangers wanting a long man in case a starter gets knocked out early in this series.

4/24/21 Burke, Evans activated, optioned. The Texas Rangers have activated pitchers Brock Burke and Demarcus Evans from the 10 day injured list. Each pitcher has been optioned to the Alternate Training Site Frisco. This gives the Rangers two more healthy arms on the 40 man roster who they can potentially utilize in the coming weeks.

6/28/20 Duffy released, Garcia optioned, Burke i.l.'d. Texas Rangers transactions: Brock Burke was placed on the 60 day injured list today, the Rangers announced, removing him from the 40 man roster. In addition, the Rangers optioned outfielder Adolis Garcia and released infielder Matt Duffy. Burke and Garcia are the first Rangers roster moves in 93 days — since the team optioned Scott Heineman and Taylor Hearn in March.
