What could've been a tune-up performance in garbage time for two Yankees relievers hungry to earn playing time turned out to be a ticket back to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Saturday night. Both Matt Krook and Ron Marinaccio came in from the bullpen in the top of the ninth against the Brewers, packing their bags after the final out of a 9-2 loss. Krook was charged with all four of the runs that scored in the frame, although both arms are responsible for Milwaukee's late-inning insurance, both a result of dreadful command. Despite what the stats indicate, and they're really poor, there was way more good than bad in Yankees left-hander reliever Matt Krook's long-time-coming major league debut. On his 15th day as a big leaguer, the 6-foot-4, 225-pound left-hander finally got into a game as a long man in Friday night's 15-5 loss to the Red Sox and he put up a horrific pitching line allowing five runs over 1 2/3 innings on four hits and a walk. The low points were Krook being late covering first base on a two-on, two-out, third-inning grounder to first baseman Anthony Rizzo, then Justin Turner following with a grand slam that left the Yankees for dead trailing 10-1.
