2/25/24 Dodgers' Dustin May: 'You have no idea' how frustrating injuries have been. GLENDALE, Ariz. – These have been trying times for Dustin May. “You have no idea,” the 26-year-old right-hander said with all the weariness that two major elbow surgeries 26 months apart will bring. “It was definitely not what I wanted to hear when I heard that I needed surgery again. … You can understand the first one. It's, 'Okay, I'm going to go get fixed and then I'm going to be fine and I'll be able to stay healthy and compete.' Then as soon as I get back basically, the same thing happens again. It's just a gut-wrenching feeling. It's like the rug keeps getting pulled out from under my feet. All I want to do is go and compete and I keep being told I can't.” May was just 23 innings into his

Teams and players will start to report to their respective camps in Arizona and Florida over the next couple of weeks, with some pitchers already starting their throwing programs and continuing rehab, including Los Angeles Dodgers hurler Dustin May. May posted a video of himself on social media throwing on a field with a caption that says “Day 1 ? .” Dodgers fans loved what they saw, but reminded the fireballer to take it easy for a bit as there's no rush back.

1/09/24 2023 Los Angeles Dodgers Player Reviews: Dustin May. Dustin May went into the 2023 season expecting to fill a prominent role for the Los Angeles Dodgers. However, his first full season since undergoing Tommy John surgery ended early due to more right elbow trouble. May managed to make just nine starts, the last of which was only one inning on May 17. He had two strikeouts and threw 16 pitches against the Minnesota Twins before leaving because of what the Dodgers initially deemed right elbow pain. May was initially treated with a platelet-rich plasma injection that required him to be shut down from throwing for several weeks. However, the PRP injection did not promote enough healing in May's elbow. “We were expecting him to come back,” Dodgers manager

1/08/24 Dustin May's salary arbitration preview for 2024. Dustin May enters his second year of salary arbitration eligibility very similar to his first, coming off of major elbow surgery and surrounded by uncertainty. With four years, 59 days of major league service time, May has two seasons remaining before reaching free agency. In that way, he's quite similar to Walker Buehler before the 2023 season, who was coming off his second Tommy John surgery as well as flexor tendon repair in his right elbow. May had Tommy John surgery in May 2021.

10/30/23 Dodgers Eyeing Game-Changer: Corbin Burnes Trade Proposal for Stronger 2024 Pitching Lineup. The Los Angeles Dodgers are gearing up for the 2024 offseason with a crystal-clear objective: bolstering their starting pitching lineup. In the NLDS losses, Dodgers' starting pitchers only managed 4.2 innings collectively, highlighting a significant gap that needs filling. Complicating matters, key players like Dustin May and Tony Gonsolin are sidelined, leaving uncertainties for the 2024 season. Although Walker Buehler is set to return, his recovery from a second Tommy John surgery remains uncertain. Additionally, Clayton Kershaw's rocky performance in 2023 and the looming question of his retirement emphasize the urgent need for a top-tier starting pitcher. Joel Reuter from Bleacher Report proposes

9/17/23 Dodgers season could have gone off the rails, but instead they won the NL West. Given how the roster was built last offseason, 2023 was very clearly designed to be a transition year of sorts for the Dodgers, a step back from the juggernaut pace of recent seasons. Of the five pitchers in the Dodgers rotation to open spring training, Dustin May and Tony Gonsolin each had season-ending elbow surgeries that will sideline them for most or all of 2024, too. Noah Syndergaard was so bad that he was first banished to the injured list then to Cleveland, and that the Dodgers got anything in return — let alone the reasonably useful Amed Rosario — was a coup.

9/16/23 Dodgers Postseason: Bobby Miller Expected To Start NLDS Game 1 Or 2. With the regular season winding to a close, the Los Angeles Dodgers are on the verge of clinching their 10th National League West division title in the past 11 seasons. With Dustin May, Tony Gonsolin and Julio Urías all unavailable and Clayton Kershaw pitching through an injury, the Dodgers have relied on rookie Bobby Miller to help lead their staff. Miller has turned in impressive results after being rushed to the Major League level and that has caught the eye of the organization.
