White began the year with the Blue Jays but was designated for assignment (DFA) on April 16 after allowing six earned runs through 10 innings. A short time later, he was traded to the San Francisco Giants for cash considerations, but his time with the Giants didn't last long. In just 5.1 innings with the Giants, White gave up seven earned runs and was DFA once again.

4/23/24 Introducing Mitch White, the latest local to fulfill his dreams with SF Giants. When he was designated for assignment by the Blue Jays last week, Mitch White packed up his things, headed west and tried to manifest destiny. “It couldn't have worked out better,” the 29-year-old right-hander said Tuesday afternoon from his new locker in the Giants' clubhouse. Sitting at home in San Diego, White received a call from assistant general manager Jeremy Shelley, who informed him that the Giants had worked out a trade with Toronto. San Francisco sent cash considerations, and the San Jose-born pitcher would get the chance to suit up for the team he grew up rooting for.

7/18/23 Blue Jays can treat Mitch White as a cautionary tale with trade deadline approaching. Acquiring Mitch White at the 2022 trade deadline made some sense at the time, but it hasn't worked out and the Blue Jays can learn from their mistake.

3/29/23 Analysis | Meet your 2023 Toronto Blue Jays: A player-by-player look at the 26-man roster. After getting through spring training with their health mostly intact, the Blue Jays are set to open the regular season with almost the exact same roster they were projected to use at the start of camp. Unlike the New York Yankees who lost three-fifths of their rotation to injuries, the Jays departed Florida on Tuesday relatively unscathed. While Mitch White was prevented from cracking the opening 26-man roster because of an impinged shoulder, everyone else was deemed good to go. Right-hander Zach Pop took White's spot in the bullpen and in a slight upset, outfielder Nathan Lukes beat out Otto López for the final spot on the bench.

White “is a little bit behind in terms of workload ramp up,” according to Toronto manager John Schneider, per Davidi.
