9/17/24 1st-and-10: Jim Harbaugh showing Bears how it's done. The Chargers are 2-0 for the first time since 2012, and not because Harbaugh has taken $52.5 million-a-year quarterback Justin Herbert to the next level, but because he's invigorated a lackluster run game. The Chargers, who were 25th, 30th and 21st in rushing under Brandon Staley, are second in the NFL after two games this season (197.5 yards per game) after rushing for 176 and 219 yards in victories over the Raiders and Panthers.

9/16/24 Chargers Dominate Panthers with Balanced Offense and Stifling Defense. Justin Herbert averaged more than 40 pass attempts per game over his first four years in the league. The Chargers are off to a 2-0 start for the first time since 2012, largely because of a balanced offensive attack led by the one-two punch of running backs J.K. Dobbins and Gus Edwards, a solid offensive line and a defense that is playing lights-out. Dobbins ran for 131 yards on Sunday, including a 43-yard touchdown, and Herbert showed he can still make plays when he needs to, connecting on two touchdown passes with Quentin Johnston as the Chargers passed their first road test with a 26-3 drubbing of the woeful Carolina Panthers 26-3.

9/16/24 Chargers QB Injured, Status Uncertain for Steelers Game. Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert was injured in the team's win over the Carolina Panthers on Sunday, casting doubt on his status against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 3. With two minutes remaining in the third quarter, Herbert stepped up in the pocket and was dragged down by Carolina edge rusher DJ Johnson while defensive tackle Jayden Peevy fell on top of him. Herbert was slow to get up before heading to the medical tent with an apparent lower-body injury.

9/15/24 Chargers WR Quentin Johnston's Haters Don't Know How To Act After Big Touchdown Vs. Panthers. On Sunday afternoon, Justin Herbert and the Los Angeles Chargers took the field on the East Coast vs Bryce Young and the Carolina Panthers. The Chargers got off to a strong start last week by knocking off the Las Vegas Raiders, and Herbert's squad continued that momentum into Sunday afternoon on the road. Just a few minutes into the game during the Chargers' first drive, Herbert hit second year wide receiver Quentin Johnston in the end zone for the very first touchdown of his career, after having beat Jaycee Horn who was in coverage for the Panthers.

9/12/24 Justin Herbert wasn't ready for Jim Harbaugh's pregame ritual. Los Angeles Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh has a pregame ritual that he likes to go through with his starting quarterback each week. The ritual involves a handful of punches, some slaps to the shoulder pads, a few taps to the helmet (if the QB is wearing it), and some additional punches to the back. Michigan fans became familiar with this routine during Harbaugh's tenure in Ann Arbor, but it's something that actually dates back to to at least the 2012 season during his time with the San Francisco 49ers. For Harbaugh, the idea is to put a few hits on the quarterback before the game starts so that it can knock some of the butterflies out.

9/12/24 Chargers QB Justin Herbert's speech proves Jim Harbaugh is rubbing off on him. The Los Angeles Chargers have entered a new era under head coach Jim Harbaugh. Los Angeles got the 2024 season started on a high note with a Week 1 victory over division rival Las Vegas. It looks like Harbaugh has already made a strong impression on the Chargers, including franchise QB Justin Herbert. One example of the impact Harbaugh has had on Herbert comes from a video from Sunday.

9/08/24 Justin Herbert Highlights Generational Wealth Off-Field. After last year's lackluster 5-12 season finish, Justin Herbert and the Los Angeles Chargers opened the 2024 season with an impressive 22-10 come-from-behind win at SoFi Stadium yesterday. Herbert threw for 144 yards and a touchdown as the home team logged 13 total fourth-quarter points over the Las Vegas Raiders. Since the beginning of his NFL tenure, which started five seasons ago, the 2020 Rookie of the Year has also been involved with the Chargers' biggest sponsor partner, SoFi, to help young people and new professionals learn about the value of money and think about the future. Following the California-based company's launch of its Generational Wealth Fund earlier this year, Herbert helped expand SoFi's efforts with the Game Changers Challenge campaign.

Outside linebacker Joey Bosa returns to an NFL field for the first time since suffering a season-ending foot injury in Week 11 last season. Safety Derwin James Jr. faces off against wide receiver Devante Adams of the Las Vegas Raiders for the first time since the Chargers' humiliating and franchise-altering 63-21 loss in Week 15 last season. 9/07/24 Los Angeles Chargers bold predictions for Week 1 vs. Raiders. After burning out in spectacular fashion in 2023, firing Brandon Staley for his inability to grow in the middle of the season, and landing the biggest fish in coaching free agency in Jim Harbaugh, the Los Angeles Chargers find themselves one of the most interesting teams in the NFL, with potential outcomes ranging from playoff players to a pick near the top of the 2025 NFL draft. Sure, they have Justin Herbert back, along with a number of other stalwarts like Joey Bosa and Derwin James, but they have a new offensive coordinator, a new defensive coordinator, and a whole new era to build into the future, with Week 1 serving as nothing more than the opening tip of an incredibly long journey back to contention.

9/05/24 Chargers Defense Hopes Simple Change Gets Big Results. After a disappointing 2023 season, the Los Angeles Chargers are looking to make big changes to improve. The most significant change has been hiring head coach Jim Harbaugh to help build a strong offense around star quarterback Justin Herbert. While people are looking forward to the offensive changes for Los Angeles, the biggest need is on defense. Last year, the Chargers finished 28th overall in defense with an average of 362.9 yards allowed per game.

9/05/24 Chargers QB Justin Herbert one of NFL's best leaders? Jim Harbaugh thinks so. The Los Angeles Chargers are entering a new era in every sense this year. The Chargers hired Jim Harbaugh to be the franchise's new head coach, they opened a brand-new team facility and have 23 new players on their roster going into Week 1. One of the constants, however, is starting quarterback Justin Herbert. Herbert is going into his fifth NFL season with the Chargers, and it might the first time since his rookie campaign that expectations about him or the team aren't high outside of their new headquarters.

9/04/24 Chargers QB Herbert says foot is back to 100%. Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert, who was in a walking boot for two weeks of training camp with a plantar fascia injury to his right foot, said Wednesday that his foot is back to 100%. Herbert said that he isn't wearing any special kind of cleat or sole to support his foot and that there wasn't a play or moment that sparked the injury. "It was just one of those things that I went in; it was getting a little sore, and I talked to [the training staff] about it," Herbert said. Herbert said managing the injury throughout the season is "not really on my mind right now."
