9/17/24 Blue Jays hit with major update on Daulton Varsho's injury. The 2024 season has been nothing short of a complete disaster for the Toronto Blue Jays. As if things couldn't get any worse, the Blue Jays even lost one of their most valuable contributors to a major injury, with Daulton Varsho nursing a right rotator cuff injury that will end his season prematurely. Varsho, who is one of the best defensive outfielders in the MLB, will be undergoing surgery to repair the injury on his shoulder, as he relayed to Hazel Mae of Sportsnet. The 28-year-old outfielder reportedly met with Dr. Keith Meister to discuss the procedure that Varsho hopes to undergo as soon as possible so he could have as plenty of time to recover in preparation for the 2025 season.

9/10/24 Small ball, big inning: Daulton Varsho's bunt starts the Blue Jays on their way to win over the Mets. It started with a bunt. It ended with the Blue Jays batting around and scoring four runs. After leading the American League with 11 bunt hits last season, Daulton Varsho had barely used that weapon this year, so he caught Mets starter David Peterson by surprise, dropping a beautifully placed bunt to lead off the third and outrunning the baseball down the first-base line.

9/01/24 Daulton Varsho, Spencer Horwitz homer in 7-run 1st inning as Blue Jays rout Twins, 15-0. Toronto hit three two-run homers, including two in a seven-run first inning, and José Berríos tossed six shutout innings as the Blue Jays routed the Minnesota Twins 15-0 on Saturday night. Daulton Varsho and Spencer Horwitz each hit two-run home runs in the first inning off Twins starter Zebby Matthews, giving the Blue Jays a 4-0 lead just four batters into the game. Toronto scored three more runs in the inning off Matthews to take a 7-0 lead before Minnesota’s bats ever got to the plate. That was more than enough offensive support for Berríos, who was sharp against his former team.

8/28/24 Red Sox fans were shocked when Ceddanne Rafaela rifled home run ball back into stands. The Boston Red Sox broke out of a slump in a big way and beat the rival Toronto Blue Jays 6-3 on Aug. 27. A late-rally attempt by Daulton Varsho stole the show — rather, Ceddanne Rafaela's response did. The outfielder crushed a homer to straightaway center field in the ninth inning. The Sox fan who caught the ball wasn't thrilled that it came off the bat of a Blue Jay, and hucked it back into the field.

6/01/24 Pirates jump on Yusei Kikuchi early and beat the Blue Jays handily. Five hitters faced, three runs allowed, and with the Jays offence struggling again, that was enough for the Pirates, though they added a few more in an 8-1 win. “It felt like they were sitting on my curveball and slider in that first inning,” said Kikuchi, through translator Yusuke Oshima. The Jays' franchise-record streak of futility reached 23 games without a first-inning run, despite the fact they had runners on the corners with one out in the opening frame thanks to a Daulton Varsho triple and a Vladimir Guerrero Jr. walk.

5/26/24 With both teams struggling, White Sox open series vs. Jays. The Toronto Blue Jays and their feast-or-famine attack are hoping to find consistency against a familiar foe. Toronto has lost three in a row, while the White Sox have dropped nine of 10. After pounding the Detroit Tigers 9-1 on Thursday in the opener of a four-game road series, the Blue Jays managed just three runs in the next two games before losing a 14-11 slugfest on Sunday. "I thought, overall, the entire offense put together good at-bats all game long," Toronto's Daulton Varsho said Sunday.
