8/21/24 Nolan Jones, Rockies shoot for another win vs. Nationals. Colorado Rockies outfielder Nolan Jones is heading into the late stages of a disappointing season marked by multiple injuries. Finally healthy, Jones is eager to finish the season in a positive manner. Jones figures prominently in the long-term plans of the Rockies, who continue a three-game series against the host Washington Nationals on Wednesday. In his first game back from the injured list, the 26-year-old Pennsylvania native played a key role in the Rockies' 3-1 win on Tuesday.

8/01/24 Rockies' Nolan Jones: “It's been a mental and physical battle for me this year”. Nolan Jones never saw this season coming. Not after what he did in 2023 when he became the first Rockies rookie to hit 20 home runs and steal 20 bases. “It's been a physical and mental battle for me this year, and I'm trying to stay positive and know that my time is coming,” Jones said. On Tuesday night, Jones took a small step in the right direction, going 1 for 4 with a two-run home run in a rehab game at Low-A Fresno.

7/10/24 Rockies Mailbag: Can Nolan Jones rebound? Is Colorado bad at drafting?. Pose a Rockies- or MLB-related question for the Rockies Mailbag. Was 2023 Nolan Jones' ceiling? Kyle, I don't think Jones peaked last season when he slashed .297/.389/.542 with 20 homers and 20 stolen bases in 106 games. The Rockies have a lot of talented outfielders in the pipeline, so he'll have competition for a job.

6/30/24 This Prospect Could Give Guardians Big Boost On Offense. The Cleveland Guardians made a questionable move after the 2022 season when they dealt top prospect Nolan Jones, to the Colorada Rockies for INF Juan Brito. Cleveland's offense has been one of the best in baseball this season, but they still need another right-handed bat to solidify their lineup heading into the second half of the season. Sure, the Guardians could trade for a player of this caliber, or they could call up one of the hottest-hitting prospects at Triple-A to fill this need. The power has really stood out for the switch hitter during this stretch.

6/01/24 Rockies star gets pivotal injury update. Colorado Rockies left fielder Nolan Jones has had a tough time with injuries as of late. Things started for Jones when he injured his back, and he went down to Albuquerque to play for the Albuquerque Isotopes on rehab. While he was on rehab for the back injury, Jones sustained another injury, this one being to his left knee. Jones is currently on the 10-day/15-day injured list for the Rockies, and he should be resuming his rehab assignment shortly.

4/17/24 Rockies' rally falls short in 7-6 loss to Phillies, who finish three-game sweep. The Rockies were on the cusp of the most incredible comeback since Rocky Balboa decked Clubber Lang. Alas, it never came, and the Phillies escaped with a 7-6 win Wednesday night at Citizens Bank Park to complete a three-game sweep. The Rockies, who finished 1-5 on their road trip, are 4-15 to begin the season — the worst start in franchise history. In the ninth, the Rockies had the tying run at second base in pinch runner Nolan Jones, who was running for Elehuris Montero, who hit a two-out single off lefty Jose Alvarado.

Nolan Jones had a home run and an RBI double to lead the Colorado Rockies to a 12-4 rout of the Toronto Blue Jays on Friday. 4/01/24 Nolan Jones' two crucial errors lead to Rockies' 5-0 loss to Cubs. Mistakes by the lake doomed the Rockies on a gloomy Monday afternoon at Wrigley Field. On a cold, rainy day with the wind howling in from Lake Michigan, that's all Chicago needed to beat the Rockies 5-0. The Rockies managed just three hits and opened the season 1-4. The Cubs won their home opener to improve to 2-2.

3/23/24 Rockies' Nolan Jones injures right knee, leaves game vs. Reds. Rockies left fielder Nolan Jones, one of the club's best young players, fouled a ball off the top of his right knee in the fourth inning Saturday in a Cactus League game vs. the Reds. Jones was in obvious pain and had to be helped off the field by team trainer Keith Dugger and a Rockies coach. The first report from the Rockies was that Jones suffered a “right knee contusion,” but the full extent of the injury was not immediately known.

3/10/24 How strong family shaped Rockies outfielder Nolan Jones. Nolan Jones' dream was waning. Naturally, he called his brother Peyton, the oldest sibling in an athletically gifted family. Naturally, Peyton picked up on the first ring. “We are each other's first phone call,” Peyton said.

3/09/24 Ambulance Chasers: Nolan Jones Puts His Back Into It.

Week after week I have important decisions to make: Should I eat this entire sleeve of Girl Scout cookies? Should I call my mom? Should I make my dogs pay rent?

This week the decision around what I would title this week’s edition of “Ambulance Chasers” weighed heavily on me. Please, blog, may I have some more?

2/26/24 It’s All About Who You Know: 2024 Fantasy Baseball Team Strategy. In our ultra-premium, ultra-secret Razzball Discord (which is only for writers and those people who podcast enough that they get called writers), Rudy wrote the following about his Draft Champions decision-making process:  Now, aside from that killer avatar that Coolwhip made for Rudy, there are a few takeaways we can make from Rudy's statement.  Nolan Jones lacks desirable individual metrics: his career average K% hovers near 30%, a rate which is unsustainable for producing above-average fantasy hitters.  Nolan Jones lacks track record: he has a notch over 500 MLB at bats, which worries Rudy. Clearly, 500 AB doesn't worry the field about Corbin Carroll's repeatability, but you do you.  The Rockies suck. "That god awful offense" refers to the Rockies, not Nolan Jones, bee-tee-dubya.  Per Fangraphs, the Colorado Rockies are projected to have the largest run differential in MLB in 2024, and an average overall runs scored per game rate.  Who did Rudy choose instead? Adley Rutschman, the catcher for the Baltimore Orioles. Rutschman has twice the MLB sample size of Nolan Jones, a 10% lower K rate in that experience, and bats on a team that's projected for a bit more runs than the Rockies. Good choice, Rudy!

Colorado Rockies' Nolan Jones Stands With Elite Company in Recent History Books Nolan Jones' breakout rookie campaign with the Colorado Rockies can only be matched by Freddie Freeman, Shohei Ohtani, Yordan Alvarez and Kyle Tucker. 10/22/23 Grading the 2023 Colorado Rockies on what truly matters. The Colorado Rockies lost 103 games in 2023, the worst mark in franchise history, and rated pretty poorly across the board in just about every single category. By team OPS+ (83) it was the second worst offense in franchise history after the shortened 2020 season and by ERA+ (89) it was the third worst season in franchise history after 1993 and 2014. Nolan Jones put up superstar numbers seemingly out of nowhere.
