Lynch (0-0, 1.50 ERA) is scheduled to start Friday night when the Royals open a three-game series with the visiting Seattle Mariners, who have won nine of their past 11 games. Lynch most recently pitched May 30 at Minnesota, making an emergency start after Brady Singer was scratched because of an illness. 1/17/24	Smash or Pass: Daniel Lynch. Who is he and where does he come from? Daniel Lynch is a former first-round pick by the Kansas City Royals . He's a lefty with a Chris Sale-like frame, plus twenty or so pounds. Considered a top prospect throughout his time in the minors, he debuted in 2021 and has bounced back and forth between the majors and minors since then. Is he any good? Lynch has thrown 252 innings in the big leagues over three years and has a 5.81 ERA to show for it. If you want to close the tab and read something else, I wouldn't blame you at all. That being said, I'm a believer that you shouldn't judge a pitcher by their overall stats, but rather by their individual pitches. 5/28/23	Royals walk off Nationals, 3-2. For six, long innings, it seemed like the Royals were sleep-walking through another loss on their way to another series sweep at the hands of an opponent. Daniel Lynch got his first start of 2023 today and he wasn't awful, but he wasn't perfect, either. Two runs scored against him in a long fourth inning and that seemed like it would be plenty.
