9/13/24 Braves breakout rookie hurler has been 'hidden gem,' says new report. In some respects, it's a miracle the Atlanta Braves are still in the hunt for the postseason. The Braves are perennial preseason World Series favorites nowadays, so on the surface, it's a disappointment to be one game out of Wild Card position on Sept. 13. One moment that could have derailed the Braves' season altogether was ace pitcher Spencer Strider's season-ending injury all the way back in April. Strider, Major League Baseball's wins leader in 2023, made just two starts in 2024.

9/10/24 Phillies injuries coming at a not-so-great-time. Just ask the Atlanta Braves, a team whose season has been negatively altered thanks to season-ending injuries to star pitcher Spencer Strider and two of their best offensive weapons, Austin Riley and Ronald Acuna Jr. The Phillies are not dealing with injury issues quite as acute as theirs, but they entered their three-game series against the Tampa Bay Rays as banged up as they've been all season. J.T. Realmuto is out after fouling a ball off his knee Friday night in Miami and likely will not play until this weekend against the Mets due to fluid accumulation in the joint. Austin Hays is on the 10-day IL due to a kidney infection.

9/04/24 Why Braves could reportedly lose one reliable relief pitcher after 2024 season. The Atlanta Braves have been plagued all season by injuries, but they've managed to stay in the fight. Despite losing stars Ronald Acuña Jr., Spencer Strider, Ozzie Albies, and Austin Riley for extended periods, the Braves maintain a slim 1/2-game lead on the rival New York Mets for the final National League playoff spot. Anchored by Raisel Iglesias, who recently retired an incredible 38 batters in a row, the Braves have been locking down tight games late, allowing them to weather the storm of an inconsistent offense.

8/25/24 One Player Braves Must Promote For Playoff Stretch Run. The Atlanta Braves are having a season to remember—in all the wrong ways. This has been the most injury-riddled season in recent memory for the Braves. Currently, the team has five players from their Opening Day lineup that are on the injured list, with three of those being season-ending. You would think with that many injuries to some of their star players—Ronald Acuña Jr., Spencer Strider, A.J. Minter—there's no way the Braves would be in playoff contention.

8/21/24 Banged Up Braves Struggling to Fill Out Lineup Card. “We're having a hard time finding the next man up,” manager Brian Snitker moaned. “We're just going through a really weird time right now,” All-Star pitcher Reynaldo López said through a translator. — NL MVP Ronald Acuña Jr. sustained a season-ending knee injury in late May, one year after becoming the first 40-70 player (40 homers, 70 stolen bases) in big league history. — Ace pitcher Spencer Strider, coming off a franchise record for strikeouts in 2023, made it through only two starts this season before a torn elbow ligament ended his campaign.

8/20/24 Braves surprisingly working out 40-year-old former batting champ at third base. The Atlanta Braves have been ravaged by injuries, and it's becoming increasingly difficult to plug the holes. With Spencer Strider and Ronald Acuña Jr. out for the season, the Braves were already missing their preseason Cy Young and Most Valuable Player favorites.

8/16/24 2 Biggest Concerns Braves Must Address After 2024 MLB Trade Deadline. The Atlanta Braves are in unfamiliar territory as the second half of August begins. On Aug. 16 last year, the Braves were ahead by 12 games in the National League East and had the best record in baseball by 4 1/2 games. 365 days later, Atlanta is seven games back of first place in the division and clings to a two-game lead for the final Wild Card berth in the NL. Having spent virtually the entire season without ace Spencer Strider and the last 12 weeks without Ronald Acuna Jr., it's easy to see how the Braves regressed.

7/20/24 Why Braves "workload concerns" point to trade for starter, per insider. It's hard to believe that the Atlanta Braves have been carried by their starting rotation after losing ace Spencer Strider. After a 2023 season in which the Braves tied the Major League Baseball single-season home run record, the offense has largely gone cold. Defending National League MVP Ronald Acuña Jr. is out for the year with a torn ACL, while sluggers Austin Riley and Matt Olson have underperformed. If not for Marcell Ozuna's otherworldly contributions, this might be one of the worst offenses in the NL.

7/19/24 Braves fortunate to still be in division race. The Atlanta Braves enter the second half of the season in not as bad of shape as one might think. Yes, 53-42 is not the standard that Braves fans have come to expect, but you have to consider what went wrong in the first half of the season. Spencer Strider, last year's strikeout king, was lost for the season just days into this year. Ronald Acuña Jr., last year's Most Valuable Player, started slow and tore his ACL after just 49 games.

7/18/24 A breakdown of the Atlanta Braves recently released 2025 schedule: Take a look. The Atlanta Braves' 2024 season may have plenty of games left, but that didn't stop their 2025 schedule from being released. The year will mark the likely return of Braves stars like Spencer Strider and Ronald Acuna Jr., who will miss nearly all of the 2024 season. “Everybody is excited and believes we are ready to make this the best All-Star Game in the history of Major League Baseball,” Braves president and CEO Derek Schiller said. Prior to that, the Braves will have their opening day out on the West Coast.

7/17/24 Bryce Harper Has Surprising Take on Philadelphia Phillies' Rival. It's no secret that the Philadelphia Phillies and Atlanta Braves are fierce rivals. Despite being a Wild Card team with an inferior record, the Phillies beat the Braves both times. Philadelphia has the best record in baseball at 62-34, leading Atlanta by 8.5 games in the NL East standings. One reason why is that the Braves have lost several of their best players to season-ending injuries, including ace Spencer Strider and reigning NL MVP Ronald Acuna Jr.

7/16/24 Here is Braves' biggest need with trade deadline quickly approaching. The 2024 Major League Baseball trade deadline officially is two weeks away and the Atlanta Braves are about to add. Atlanta has been great so far despite being bitten by the injury bug in a major way. The Braves are such a deep team that they still have a chance to compete for a World Series title this season even without Spencer Strider and Ronald Acuña Jr. The Braves are loaded throughout the roster, but with Acuña out, the outfield is a big point of interest.

7/15/24 Braves are looking to improve this area at deadline according to insider. The Atlanta Braves are expected to be extremely active over the next few weeks. Atlanta currently holds the top National League Wild Card spot and has remained one of the top contenders to compete for a World Series title this season despite losing both Spencer Strider and Ronald Acuña Jr. to injuries. The Braves are one of the deepest teams in baseball and it has shown this season as they have stayed afloat despite the tough injuries. Atlanta is in a good spot and could still compete for a championship this season, especially if it is able to have a strong trade deadline.

7/11/24 2 sneaky Braves 2024 MLB trade deadline targets to consider. One of the MLB favorites to win this year's World Series was the Atlanta Braves. With a reigning National League MVP who led one of the best offenses in the league last year, coupled with a strong pitching staff featuring both young and veteran talent, who could argue against them? Gone quickly were ace pitcher Spencer Strider and Ronald Acuna Jr. for the season. Sprinkled throughout have been lengthy injuries to other star players as well, whether it was Sean Murphy, Austin Riley, or more recently Michael Harris II, who still has yet to return.

6/23/24 Atlanta Braves Give Injury Update on Former Clemson Ace Spencer Strider. The Atlanta Braves are currently sitting in a postseason position with the MLB trade deadline just a few weeks away on July 30. The Braves had high aspirations for the season, much of them hanging on the performance of their ace and former Clemson Tiger Spencer Strider. The presumptive NL Cy Young winner coming into the season, Strider is now on the shelf until the 2025 MLB season after undergoing Tommy John surgery on the UCL in his elbow. Tommy John surgery has a lengthy recovery, especially for hard throwing pitchers.

6/11/24 3 early Braves MLB trade deadline targets. After a pair of 100-win seasons and no playoff series wins to show for it in the last two years, the Atlanta Braves are looking to break through in 2024 Atlanta is off to another strong start in 2024, though the Philadelphia Phillies' even better first two months mean that a Braves team on a 90-win pace is 9.0 games behind the Phillies in the NL East. The loss of Cy Young candidate Spencer Strider to season-ending elbow surgery leaves Atlanta with an irreplaceable hole in its starting rotation this year.

6/06/24 Jarred Kelenic Injury Scare Should Turn Braves into Active Shoppers. The Atlanta Braves don't need any more injuries to teach them the value of organizational depth. With season-ending ailments to Ronald Acuña and Spencer Strider, and other brief IL stints for other-star players, the Braves have already dealt with their fair share of the injury bug in 2024. Left fielder Jared Kelenic suffered a wrist injury in the 9-0 loss to the Boston Red Sox on Wednesday. “I think I got lucky,” Kelenic said, via the Atlanta Journal-Constitution's Justin Toscano.

6/04/24 Resetting division races: Who are Seattle Mariners' biggest threat?. The Atlanta Braves were already in a bit of a hole in the NL East before they got the type of news every team dreads — a season-ending injury to their top player. The torn anterior cruciate ligament in Ronald Acuña Jr.'s knee left the Braves reeling at the beginning of the week, and perhaps it was no surprise that they lost three of four to Washington before rebounding a bit against lowly Oakland. Atlanta now trails first-place Philadelphia by 6 1/2 games, and the Braves have their work cut out for them if they're going to win a seventh consecutive NL East title. Atlanta is still in good shape to make the playoffs — there are six postseason spots in the National League and only five teams above .500 at the moment — but losing Acuña is a major blow to a team that already had right-hander Spencer Strider go down with his own season-ending injury.
