9/17/24 Triston Casas gets brutally honest about Red Sox's season after loss to Rays. The Boston Red Sox's chance at making a postseason run are getting lower and lower every day. After Tuesday's brutal 8-3 loss to the Tampa Bay Rays, they may not have much of a path anymore. Red Sox first baseman Triston Casas spoke about what his thought process is as the regular season comes to a close to Ian Browne of MLB.com. “It's coming down to the wire, but it feels like we've got to run the table at this point,” Casas said.

9/13/24 MLB insider suggests Red Sox trade budding star during the offseason. The Boston Red Sox dropped the series opener against the New York Yankees on Thursday night, falling to 4.5 games back of the third and final Wild-Card spot in the American League with just 15 games left. With Boston's season likely coming to a close soon, they'll have to quickly turn the page to prepare for the 2025 season and beyond. While the Red Sox will have a number of young prospects nearing their MLB debuts by Opening Day, the organization should still be looking to add proven, veteran talent to fill some of their biggest roster holes. In a recent article, The Athletic's Ken Rosenthal suggested that Boston should do that by training first baseman Triston Casas for starting pitching.

9/10/24 Alex Cora Reveals Message To Triston Casas Amid Red Sox Slugger's Slump. Triston Casas was supposed to lift up the Boston Red Sox offense when he returned in mid-August from a rib injury that kept him out for four months. Initially, all went well for Casas. Casas is batting just .097 (3-for-36) with no home runs and two RBIs over his last 11 games. With Casas mired in a slump, Red Sox manager Alex Cora took the opportunity to give the slugging first baseman some advice.

9/02/24 Red Sox Three-Time All-Star Hurler Could Reportedly Return This Weekend. After returning Triston Casas, Chris Martin, and Justin Slaten from the injured list in recent weeks, Boston currently has its healthiest roster since early April. Plus, shortstop Trevor Story is making a rehab assignment in his surprise comeback bid from a devastating shoulder injury. Amid all those returns, the Red Sox are also getting close to a debut.

8/29/24 Red Sox Lineup Dealt Tough Blow As Rookie Speedster Heads To IL. The Boston Red Sox finally appeared to be getting healthy these past couple weeks. Now just three games out of a playoff spot entering play on Thursday, the Red Sox can ill afford to lose any of their key contributors. When Triston Casas returned to the lineup on Aug. 16, the Boston lineup was as whole as it has been since early April, when shortstop Trevor Story went down with a shoulder injury. Now, it's the rookie called up to replace Story all those months ago who is headed to the injured list.

8/28/24 The pregame routines of Red Sox first baseman Triston Casas are something to see. For Casas, pregame yoga and mindfulness exercises help him achieve focus when he steps into the batter's box. “I'm able to master movement throughout breathing patterns, which helps me reach a state of unconsciousness and mental clarity,” said Casas.

8/24/24 Triston Casas Shared 'Special' Moment With Childhood Hero During Rehab. The four-month-long journey from the injury list was a rigorous uphill climb for Boston Red Sox first baseman Triston Casas, but one that provided the second-year slugger with a long-awaited moment that'll never be forgotten. Casas started undergoing an 11-game rehab assignment in Triple-A Worcester while battling back from a rib cage injury suffered in April. It not only allowed Casas to regain strength, get reacclimated to live baseball action and prepare to rejoin the Red Sox at the most critical point of their 2024 season, but it provided a "cool" unforeseen perk. While playing in Worcester, Casas met his all-time hero and six-time All-Star Joey Votto, one of four members on Casas' first baseman Mount Rushmore of first baseman -- Adrian Gonzalez, Freddie Freeman and Matt Olson are the other three.

8/21/24 Triston Casas' massive HR in Red Sox win shows slugger has power back after injury. After three months on the sidelines, he collected five hits, all singles, and a walk in his first four games back with the Boston Red Sox. On Aug. 21, Casas unlocked his home run swing. The slugger mashed a second-deck homer off Ronel Blanco in the first inning to lift the Red Sox to an early 3-0 lead over the Astros.

8/15/24 Red Sox expect 2 players back from IL this weekend; could Triston Casas make 3?. The Red Sox expect to get two players back from the injured list by the time they leave Baltimore Sunday night ... and it may even be three. Manager Alex Cora said Thursday that he expects righty Cooper Criswell (COVID list) back Friday, potentially to start against the Orioles, and that the club is targeting Sunday — or Monday at the latest — for outfielder Tyler O'Neill (left leg infection) to come back. There's also a chance first baseman Triston Casas, who is nearing the end of his rehab window at Triple-A Worcester, could be active before the end of the four-game series at Camden Yards. Criswell, who has been sidelined for a week after contracting COVID, played catch before Thursday's game and feels strong enough to likely take James Paxton's spot in the rotation Friday.

8/12/24 Red Sox Rehabbing Slugger Will Make Return 'Some Time In Baltimore'. The Boston Red Sox have something special coming their way when they travel to Camden Yards on Thursday. According to a report from The Athletic's Jen McCaffrey, Boston's 24-year-old slugger Triston Casas is expected to rejoin the Red Sox in Baltimore for their series with the Orioles. “Cora said he did not expect rehabbing first baseman Triston Casas to join the team before the homestand is up on Wednesday, but Casas' rehab clock runs out next weekend, so it seems like at the latest, barring setbacks, he'll join the team some time in Baltimore,” McCaffrey said.

8/11/24 Red Sox Reveal Why James Paxton Exited After Five Pitches Vs. Astros. The Red Sox recently received positive developments on the health front, as Triston Casas, Trevor Story and Liam Hendriks all are faring well in their respective rehabs. James Paxton exited the Red Sox's series finale against the Astros after only five pitches at Fenway Park. After recording the first two outs of the first inning, Paxton came up lame when he tried to run over to the right side to cover first base.

8/10/24 Red Sox's Alex Cora Shares Latest Triston Casas Injury Update. Fans of the Boston Red Sox have been waiting to hear any news regarding star Triston Casas who has been suffering from torn cartilage in his ribcage which has put him on the shelf since April. Red Sox manager Alex Cora spoke with the media Saturday to provide an update regarding Casas and a possible timeline for his return. According to Red Sox beat writer Jen McCaffrey of The Athletic, the first baseman is not expected to be back until “next week” per Cora. This is obviously “barring any setbacks” as the date was expected since rehab assignments end around that time anyways as Casas has been looking to come back to a major league pace.
