9/04/24 Cardinals hero reacts to wild turn of events in dramatic win vs. Brewers. On Tuesday night, it seemed as though the Cardinals were going to blunder their way towards defeat, what with center fielder Michael Siani, who butters his bread on the defensive side of the ball, attempting an epic diving catch off of a sharp fly ball from Willy Adames — only for the ball to fall off his glove, allowing the Milwaukee Brewers' tying run to cross the plate in the 11th inning. Siani, however, quickly went from zero to hero for the Cardinals. With runners on at second and third as he came up to the plate in the top of the 12th inning, the 25-year-old center fielder, who has had his fair share of struggles hitting the ball, redeemed himself.

8/05/24 Cardinals' Oliver Marmol gets brutally honest on tough injury to rookie. The St. Louis Cardinals caught a tough break on Sunday when they had to place center fielder Michael Siani on the injured list due to an oblique strain. The last thing the Cardinals need in the middle of a heated hunt for a wild card spot is an injury to an everyday player, and it's unclear just how much time Siani will need to recuperate from his injury. Cardinals manager Oliver Marmol's prognosis of the situation won't do much to quell the worries of fans. Marmol himself doesn't know when Siani will be returning to the active roster, and he even mentioned that players who suffer injuries to their oblique usually need a bit of time to recover.

8/03/24 Michael Siani's injury could throw open range of options in center field: Cardinals Extra. During his second at-bat Saturday, several innings before his teammates staged their comeback, center fielder Michael Siani felt a ripple along his right side that could alter the Cardinals' stability in the outfield just days after they asserted it. Siani left Wrigley Field on Saturday night to have an MRI taken of his right torso and determine the severity of oblique tightness and pain that ended his game. Less than a week after the Cardinals traded two center fielders in separate deals at the deadline, they are now uncertain about Siani's availability for the coming week, if not longer. John Mozeliak, president of baseball operations, said the team's decision was “TBD” based on the results of Siani's scan, the complete scope of which may not be known until Sunday morning.

Cardinals center fielder Michael Siani tagged up and scored from third base on a ball caught by Cincinnati Reds shortstop Elly De La Cruz in shallow center field, and that aggressive base running maneuver provided the margin of victory in a pitchers' duel between NL Central Division rivals. Siani's run accounted for the entirety of the scoring in the game as the Cardinals logged a 1-0 win over the Reds in front of an announced crowd of 40,220 in the second game of a four-game series at Busch Stadium on Friday night.

6/25/24 High-effort approach key to Cardinals center fielder Michael Siani's defensive success. Michael Siani took a moment Monday to reflect following yet another of his highlight-reel catches. The defensive-minded Cardinals center fielder, in his first game back since injuring himself on a diving catch Saturday, laid out to rob former Cardinal Marcell Ozuna of an extra-base hit in the first inning of St. Louis' 4-3 victory against the Braves at Busch Stadium. Two days after sustaining a rib injury when he dove to rob Giants infielder Thairo Estrada of a run-scoring hit, Siani coincidentally found himself in the middle of a few defining plays in the series-opening victory against the Braves.

5/27/24 Michael Siani returns to Cincinnati as anchor of St. Louis' outfield defense: Cardinals Extra. Cardinals center fielder Michael Siani described being back at Great American Ball Park beginning a series against the Cincinnati Reds as a “full circle” for good reason. A fourth-round draft pick of the Cincinnati Reds in 2018, Siani spent his entire professional career in that organization until the Reds designated him for assignment on Aug. 31, 2023, and the Cardinals claimed him off waivers and sent him to Triple-A Memphis. Siani played for the Cardinals in the majors for the first time a little less than a month later in San Diego on Sept. 22.

Michael Siani, an outfielder for the St. Louis Cardinals, is the first recipient of that scholarship to reach the big leagues.
