3/12/24 With two weeks left in Florida, Twins trim roster again. Simeon Woods Richardson, David Festa, Brent Headrick and Matt Canterino — to the minors. Tuesday's cuts were all position players. The Twins optioned outfielder Emmanuel Rodriguez, one of their top prospects, to Double-A, and infielder Yunior Severino, infielder/outfielder Austin Martin and catcher Jair Camargo to Triple-A. The moves leave the Twins with 44 players left in major-league camp with two weeks left before they pack things up and head north for the season.

9/01/23 Rising Twins prospect David Festa strikes out seven in first start for Saints. David Festa was a 6-foot-6 string bean of a pitcher at Seton Hall when the Twins decided he had enough potential to take him in the 13th round of the 2021 draft. If he could continue to learn how to keep that long frame moving in the right direction and add some strength, the Twins figured they could have something. Two years later, what they have is a legitimate major league prospect. The 23-year-old Festa is the No. 9 prospect in the organization according to MLB.com, which puts him ahead of Friday's starter, Simeon Woods Richardson (No. 16), and left-hander Brent Headrick (No. 21), who was called up by the Twins on Friday.

6/17/23 Headrick claims victory on Twins' day of relief. Left-hander Brent Headrick, called up from the Saints for the second time this season, earned the victory on Saturday after 2 1/3 innings of work in relief. Headrick has added a splitter to his repertoire that he feels makes him a more effective pitcher than he was the first time around. “I went up as a long reliever the first time, and I was able to go three innings and five innings with just the two pitches,” Headrick said. Headrick said he learned a new splitter in spring training last year and revamped it the past month, altering the grip.

4/16/23 Saints blanked by Indianapolis 7-0 in roadtrip finale. The St. Paul Saints' struggles at the plate continued Sunday, as they struck out 17 times in a 7-0 loss to the Indianapolis Indians in the finale of their road trip at Victory Field. The 17 Ks were the second-most ever in a nine-inning game in history for the Saints (8-6), who had chances to score early but could never get the big hit. José De León got the spot start after Brent Headrick was called up to the Twins, and he was sharp in his three innings of work. After allowing the first two men to reach in the first, De León got a double play and a fly out to end the inning.
