9/19/24 Red Sox Projected $90 Million Slugger Predicted To Win Surprising Award By Insider. The Boston Red Sox made some shrewd trades before the 2024 season, and none have worked out better than the one they made with the St. Louis Cardinals. On Dec. 8, the Red Sox sent pitchers Nick Robertson and Victor Santos to the St. Louis Cardinals for outfielder Tyler O'Neill. O'Neill had a track record of success at the big-league level but with too many outfielders on their roster, the Cardinals felt they had to cut him loose headed into a contract year. Since then, O'Neill has been one of the catalysts of the Red Sox's offense, leading the team in home runs and coming through in several clutch situations.

8/13/24 Former Dodgers Prospect Designated For Assignment by NL Central Squad. The Los Angeles Angels claimed former Los Angeles Dodgers right-hander Nick Robertson off waivers on Tuesday. The St. Louis Cardinals had designated Robertson for assignment on Sunday when they activated right-handed pitcher Riley O'Brien from the 60-day injured list. Robertson made eight appearances with the Cardinals this year, and he had a 4.38 earned run average in just 12.1 innings. Robertson was acquired in a trade with the Boston Red Sox in Dec. 2023 that sent injury-riddled outfielder Tyler O'Neill to the American League East.

7/22/24 Twice-traded Tyler O'Neill goes about business ahead of deadline, and sizes up Red Sox' chances of adding on. O'Neill, who was dealt again last winter by the Cardinals to the Red Sox for pitchers Nick Robertson and Victor Santos in the most impactful move of Craig Breslow's tenure as chief baseball officer, has first-hand knowledge of the uncertainty that comes with the deadline. O'Neill has loved his time in Boston, and with his healthiest season since 2021, has been an impact contributor in the middle of the lineup, hitting .259/.351/.510 with 18 homers entering Monday night's series opener against the Rockies.

12/30/23 2023 Dodgers in review: Nick Robertson. A sterling performance in the high-scoring Pacific Coast League earned Nick Robertson his first trip to the majors. Robertson was drafted by the Dodgers in the seventh round in 2019 out of James Madison, and in 2022 he reached Triple-A in Oklahoma City. The Dodgers called up Robertson on June 6 after a strong start in Triple-A. In all with Oklahoma City, Robertson had a 2.54 ERA in 28? innings, with 42 strikeouts (a 37.5-percent rate) and nine walks in his 15 appearances.

The Dodgers faced left-handed pitchers in seven of 10 games since his activation on July 26, and he and fellow newcomer Amed Rosario combined for 14 RBI in week 19 of the season.

7/26/23 Seven Relievers Red Sox Could Target Before MLB Trade Deadline. Neither right-hander — Nick Robertson or Justin Hagenman — has an extensive big league track record, though, and Red Sox chief baseball officer Chaim Bloom acknowledged after the deal that Boston would continue to search for pitching depth before the Aug. 1 Major League Baseball trade deadline. This hardly is a surprise, as most — if not all — playoff contenders tend to look for such help this time of year.
