9/06/24 SF Giants place Kyle Harrison IL with shoulder inflammation. The Giants already have one starting pitcher past his previous career-high workload on the injured list with inflammation in his shoulder, and now they have another. Left-hander Kyle Harrison was placed on the 15-day injured list Friday prior to the Giants' series opener against the Padres. In a corresponding move, the club recalled right-handed reliever Austin Warren from Triple-A Sacramento.

8/28/24 SF Giants reportedly put players on waivers as playoff hopes take another hit in loss to Brewers. Ostensibly, the Giants are still in a playoff race. On the field, they couldn't recover from five runs leveled against Kyle Harrison and fell back to .500 in a 5-3 loss to the Brewers. Hours earlier, Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reported the team had placed a trio of veterans — relievers Taylor Rogers and Tyler Matzek and second baseman Thairo Estrada — on irrevocable waivers, making them available to any team willing to pay the remainder of their salaries. Estrada has been one of the majors' worst hitters this season, but his defensive acumen at second base and $4.7 million salary could make him an attractive bench piece for a contender looking to shore up their middle infield.

7/28/24 Giants, Rockies sorting through pitching situations. Two pitchers who could find themselves in different situations the next time they take the mound go head-to-head when the San Francisco Giants attempt to complete a four-game home sweep of the Colorado Rockies on Sunday. Giants pitching has dominated the first three games of the series, with starters Kyle Harrison, Blake Snell and Hayden Birdsong limiting the Rockies to one run and six hits in 17 2/3 innings. With Snell performing brilliantly in July, Robbie Ray having made a successful return to the starting rotation and Alex Cobb expected to make his season debut as early as next week, the Giants suddenly find themselves with an embarrassment of pitching riches.

7/19/24 Bullpen blows Kyle Harrison's scoreless effort as SF Giants drop second-half opener to Rockies. In two career starts here, Kyle Harrison looks to be the exception to the rule. With five more scoreless frames to begin the Giants' second half schedule Friday night against the Rockies, the 22-year-old left-hander hasn't allowed a run in 12 career innings in the league's least friendly pitching confines. Randy Rodríguez surrendered a two-run home run that pulled the Rockies within one run in the sixth, Ryan Walker allowed them to plate the tying run in the seventh after a leadoff double and a throwing error by Matt Chapman, and Tyler Rogers served up a towering go-ahead homer in the eighth.

7/07/24 San Francisco Giants Interestingly List Injured Ace as Tuesday's Starter. The San Francisco Giants entered Sunday's game with a 44-46 record, three games out of the final Wild Card spot in the National League. If the Giants are hovering around the playoff picture like they currently are, it would be shocking to see this front office, who aggressively pursued upgrades this offseason, pull the plug on this group they built. Kyle Harrison returned from the injured list on Saturday, and despite an underwhelming performance in his first game back, that's a great first step to ensure they finally have some established Major League arms starting games for them. As the Giants wait for Alex Cobb and Robbie Ray torecov from their injuries that have kept them out for an extended period of time, they are also keeping an eye on the performance of their ace Blake Snell in the minors.

Lead-off hitter Steven Kwan hit a single, second baseman ??Angel Martínez was walked and José Ramírez singled to center field as the top of Cleveland's lineup loaded the bases in the first inning.
