9/19/24 The Caleb Williams File: Chicago Bears quarterback looks for better communication, in-game adjustments to deal with defensive pressure. Caleb Williams went for the positive Wednesday at Halas Hall. The Chicago Bears quarterback was reflecting on a question about what it has been like to be him in the first two weeks of his rookie season. Struggling offensively in Week 1 and still coming out with a win against the Tennessee Titans. Gritting through hit after hit in Week 2 against the Houston Texans. Making some improvements and ...

9/17/24 Lincoln Riley Possibility for Bears Merely Cheap Name Dropping. Caleb Williams' start to the season and a 1-1 Bears record means they've hit a critical point in their schedule already. Stumbling in this juncture could mean their head coach's job, according to the way one national talk show host sees it. As a Fox Sports "shock jock," Colin Cowherd frequently throws out all kinds of ridiculous statements and even said last fall the Bears were out of the running for Williams after their win over Carolina, when they owned Carolina's pick. "I'll just throw this out there... If they lose three of the next four games, you will hear Lincoln Riley rumors. I promise you." — @ColinCowherd on Caleb Williams pic.twitter.com/DumzrdwBEU — Herd w/Colin Cowherd (@TheHerd)

9/16/24 D.J. Moore drops truth bomb on Bears' loss to Texans. For the second straight game, the Bears didn't have a receiving touchdown, and wide receiver D.J. Moore didn't hold anything back on the balance of the team. “The defense is connected… They go out there and get three-and-outs, and we struggle to keep the ball moving,” Moore said via Marquee Bears. Moore makes a valid point. No. 1 overall pick Caleb Williams hasn't had a fairly successful couple of weeks in the NFL.

9/16/24 Caleb Williams has been bad so far, but it's too early for Bears fans to panic about it. This is For The Win's daily newsletter, The Morning Win. The trolls are circling the wagons on the Caleb Williams era in Chicago. You've probably seen others saying this isn't much different from the Justin Fields era so far — Williams probably didn't help much after making that same exasperated face Fields used to on the bench during his most miserable moments. Williams hasn't thrown a touchdown yet.

9/15/24 Williams could be down 2 WRs with Odunze, Allen game-time decisions for Bears against Texans. No. 1 draft pick Caleb Williams could be missing two key wide receivers when the Chicago Bears visit the Houston Texans on Sunday night. Rome Odunze, another first-rounder, and six-time Pro Bowler Keenan Allen will be game-time decisions, coach Matt Eberflus said Friday. Odunze (sprained knee) practiced Friday on a limited basis after sitting out the previous two days, while Allen (heel) did not practice this week. Odunze, the No. 9 pick, and the Bears were breathing a little easier this week after an MRI showed no major damage after he was hurt in a season-opening win over the Tennessee Titans.

9/14/24 Is Keenan Allen playing this week? Injury update, fantasy outlook for Bears' WR ahead of SNF vs. Texans. The Caleb Williams era in Chicago is not off to the start that many had anticipated. Given the depth and weaponry surrounding Williams, it was expected that he would begin his NFL career firing on all cylinders. Sure, the Bears still have a "zero" in the loss column, but Williams looked very much like a rookie quarterback last week. Considering Williams was struggling in Week 1, it shouldn't come as a shock that his receivers were held to modest stat lines.

9/14/24 Bears at Texans — What to watch for. Rookie Caleb Williams should be better in Week 2 after passing for only 93 yards with a 55.7 passer rating in his NFL debut. Protection will be a key as always, and Bears offensive tackles Braxton Jones and Darnell Wright will be on the spot Sunday night against Texans defensive ends Will Anderson Jr. and Danielle Hunter.

9/12/24 Caleb Williams' Week 1 struggles likely to be meaningless blip in expected rise. Caleb Williams' shaky NFL debut was to be expected. But just as a pebble doesn't alter the course of a river, an expected rookie dud won't change the planned trajectory of the Bears' new signal-caller.

9/12/24 Caleb Williams Takes Lessons Learned into Prepartion for Texans. If Bears quarterback Caleb Williams drew anything from his first start, it was the difficulty of the task at hand. Not that he thought it would be easy, but the best thing he did wasn't throw the ball or run the ball while facing his first NFL opponent. Until Williams knows more about facing NFL defenses, the Bears will need to continue seeing the one thing from him they appreciated most about his effort in Sunday's win over the Tennessee Titans. "He protected the ball well, and that's what it came down to at the end of the day—turnovers," wide receiver DJ Moore said. Bears Playlist 19 Williams' 93 passing yards ranked last among all NFL starting quarterbacks in a week hardly emblematic of the
