Unfortunately, that's where things stand again for Green Bay and its ninth-year backfield coach after rookie third-round pick MarShawn Lloyd (ankle) was placed injured reserve this week. It's another blow for a Packers backfield already playing without veteran AJ Dillon, who was placed on season-ending injured reserve last month due to a recurring stinger. Lloyd suffered a hamstring injury during his second touch of the preseason opener at Cleveland. (Peter Bukowski on Twitter) FF Today's Take: Lloyd's likely absence leaves only AJ Dillon and Emanuel Wilson behind Josh Jacobs, who should begin the season in a featured role. Considering Lloyd was anything but a featured back in his college days and how little Dillon has relatively done as a pro, it would be a shock if Jacobs did not end up playing at least 60 percent of the snaps most weeks.
