9/15/24 Diamondbacks scratch Randal Grichuk Sunday vs. Brewers. The Arizona Diamondbacks scratched left fielder Randal Grichuk from the lineup Sunday ahead of their series finale against the Milwaukee Brewers. Grichuk was initially set to hit third against Brewers southpaw DL Hall, but the club swapped him for Pavin Smith in left field and reorganized the batting order. Christian Walker hopped up to third, Eugenio Suarez fourth and Smith eighth against the lefty. D-backs manager Torey Lovullo is not with the club on Sunday, as he is in California to present a eulogy for his late friend and teammate Billy Bean.

8/17/24 Baseball stuck in Tropicana Field roof at Diamondbacks-Rays game. Arizona Diamondbacks right fielder Randal Grichuk tracked a ball to the warning track, ran back in and could only stare at the roof above him along with Jake McCarthy. The ball struck by Tampa Bay Rays first baseman Brandon Lowe never came down at Tropicana Field, a quirk unique to the St. Petersburg ballpark. Lowe, who hit the high fly ball at a 42-degree launch angle off D-backs ace Zac Gallen in the second inning, was awarded a double. Tropicana Field has a set of rules for this very event, which occasionally occurs.

8/05/24 Guardians Pitcher Logan Allen Takes Line Drive Off Head, Stays in Game. () Allen was hit in the head by a 105-mph line drive hit by Randal Grichuk. by: Ryan Phillips Posted: Aug 5, 2024 / 06:29 PM CDT Updated: Aug 5, 2024 / 06:29 PM CDT SHARE Logan Allen's welcome back to the big leagues was pretty brutal. The 25-year-old lefty returned to the Cleveland Guardians ' starting rotation on Monday after a stint in the minor leagues, and things didn't start well. He opened the game against the Arizona Diamondbacks by giving up back-to-back home runs, and then it got worse. He gave up a single, was able to get a double play, then threw a 1-0 sweeper that Randal Grichuk lined right off the side of his head at 105 mph. Video is below, be warned it's pretty violent. Scary.

7/24/24 Potential Power Hitting Targets for Diamondbacks at MLB Trade Deadline. The Arizona Diamondbacks are likely buyers at the MLB Trade Deadline on July 30th at 3 PM local AZ time. Beyond needing a potential starting pitcher and a guaranteed left-handed reliever, there's a chance that Hazen might be looking for power-hitting bat. There aren't many available so it would likely be a steep cost, but it could be worth it as it would give Manager Torey Lovullo yet another game changing player that he could shuffle around in the outfield and at DH, especially against left-handed pitching as Randal Grichuk has yet to provide the power. Plus, with Corbin Carroll's lack of power among others, a power-hitting bat would fit in well with the D-backs.

6/20/24 Ryne Nelson's 7 efficient innings help Diamondbacks handle Nationals, 5-2. Randal Grichuk drove in two runs for the Diamondbacks, who took two of three at Washington and have won seven of 10 overall. Arizona (37-38) has not been at .500 since it was 9-9 on April 16. “We're closing in on .500, which isn't the final destination,” Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo said. Lane Thomas and Jesse Winker homered for Washington, which was denied its second chance in three days to get back to .500 for the first time since it was 20-20 after the first game of a doubleheader May 14.

4/09/24 Diamondbacks' Randal Grichuk on recent losses: 'We're right there'. Outfielder Randal Grichuk was impressed watching the Arizona Diamondbacks overcome the odds in the postseason last October, seeing the local buzz while living in the Valley. Despite Arizona's early problems leading to a five-game losing streak, this season is not yet two weeks old and Grichuk has maintained a level head. “The ups and the downs are going to happen,” Grichuk told Arizona Sports' Burns & Gambo on Tuesday.
