NL West Rival Reportedly Interested in Former Dodgers Starting Pitcher Could we see the former starter land in the division? Author: Matt Levine Publish date: Feb 10, 2024 7:00 PM EST In this story: Los Angeles Dodgers The Los Angeles Dodgers have seen a ton of pitchers come through the organization over the years. Some have found success, while others have been tough to manage. Typically, Los Angeles has been able to help guys find their rhythm, especially if they were brought in as reclamation projects. However, last season the Dodgers couldn't work their magic on former starter Noah Syndergaard. Syndergaard was brought in to help give the Dodgers rotation some needed depth, but he failed

As per Jon Heyman of the New York Post, Syndergaard held a throwing session with as many 15 MLB team representatives in attendance to watch him perform. Among those teams that monitored the 31-year old was the Pirates, who are reportedly interested in adding the man affectionately known as Thor, according to Robert Murray, an MLB insider for FanSided.

1/11/24 2023 Los Angeles Dodgers Player Reviews: Noah Syndergaard. Noah Syndergaard joined the Los Angeles Dodgers on a one-year, $13 million contract prior to the 2023 season in an attempt to find some of his old form. The former New York Mets ace was coming off a down year, but carried high hopes with his new club. Syndergaard spent most of the offseason working with Dodgers pitching coaches and prioritized ironing out mechanical changes during Spring Training. Syndergaard struggled over a stretch from May 9 through June 7 as well, failing to register any semblance of a quality outing.

12/07/23 2023 Dodgers in review: Amed Rosario. As mentioned with gusto elsewhere, Noah Syndergaard was absolutely terrible in 2023, both for and against the Dodgers. Rosario started the year with the Guardians in the final year of his contract, after failing to reach a contract extension with Cleveland during spring training. Unfortunately for Rosario, his offensive production dipped slightly from his career norms with a career-low .675 OPS over 94 games at the trade deadline. The main reason that the denizens of The Land soured on Rosario was his defense at shortstop, which was worst in the major leagues per Statcast at a negative-16 defensive runs saved.

On Thursday, Jon Heyman of The New York Post reported that Syndergaard is “aiming for a comeback and an MLB deal.” It turns out, the 31-year-old pitcher Mets fans affectionately called “Thor” isn't finished yet. Syndergaard, who was drafted in the first round by the Blue Jays in 2010, made his way to the Mets via trade.

11/01/23 2023 Dodgers in review: Noah Syndergaard. Noah Syndergaard was bad in 2023 — and I saw how bad in two different cities! The Noah Syndergaard Experiment, which really sounds like a pretentious progressive rock cover band that keeps playing King of the Crimson Court over and over, was doomed from the start and that fact was obvious in hindsight. In many ways, it is impossible to overstate how bad Syndergaard was for the Dodgers in 2023. In retrospect, while writing this review, briefly, I feel bad for revisiting this subject, because Syndergaard owned up to his poor play, at one point accurately calling himself the “weakest link” of the Dodgers' once-and-future beleaguered starting rotation.

10/06/23 Dodgers' plan to stop the Diamondbacks' running game is already in motion. LOS ANGELES ? The Dodgers began the 2023 regular season with four games against the Arizona Diamondbacks. It was a series made notable for the presence of two free agent pitchers, Noah Syndergaard and Madison Bumgarner, and the cloud of dust created by the Diamondbacks' 2-1 win to end the series, a game in which they stole four bases in four attempts. Two of the Diamondbacks' stolen bases came against Syndergaard, whom the Dodgers traded to Cleveland in July – a fact Manager Dave Roberts noted on Thursday.
