Arizona Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo wasn't surprised to see first baseman Christian Walker put up a two-home-run performance recently against the Texas Rangers. Marte and Walker, two cornerstones of Arizona's infield, missed significant time with injuries, but Lovullo could afford to be patient. Christian Walker missed more than a month with an oblique injury and his power stroke didn't immediately follow him to the active roster. The homers in the 6-0 victory Tuesday were the first for Walker since he returned to action on Sept. 3. Christian Walker hit a pair of homers, Zac Gallen threw five dominant innings and the Arizona Diamondbacks beat the Texas Rangers 6-0. Arizona is a half-game behind San Diego for the top NL wild card, and the Braves and Mets are two games back of the Diamondbacks and tied for the last playoff position. Joc Pederson and Walker hit back-to-back solo homers in the first for a 2-0 lead. Walker went deep again in third.
