8/07/24 How a former teammate, time with Rays shaped Andrew Kittredge's mindset: Cardinals Extra. Between the 2018 and 2019 seasons during his time with the Tampa Bay Rays, current Cardinals reliever Andrew Kittredge felt the need to make a mental switch to succeed as a major leaguer. Kittredge, coming off what he called a “horrendous year” that included a 7.75 ERA in 38? innings, said he was “mentality defeated” and knew he “needed a reset” ahead of the 2019 season. Kittredge watched Emilio Pagan, a current reliever with the Cincinnati Reds, as a teammate of his at the time and thought about how Pagan's “infectious,” “happy” and “excited” attitude could be replicated. “He (Pagan) was always having fun,” Kittredge, 34, said on Wednesday at Busch Stadium.

7/05/24 If Ryan Helsley is 'a lock,' who else merits All-Star consideration? Cardinals Extra. When he got the call in 2021 that invited him to the All-Star Game at Coors Field, middle reliever Andrew Kittredge did not have the familiar statistical baubles of the handpicked closers that usually fill the Midsummer Classic's bullpen. “It was something that I never in my life dreamed was possible, so to experience that, to be considered one of the best players in the game that year was just humbling and such a cool honor,” Kittredge said.

5/12/24 Andrew Kittredge frustrated about his part in the Cardinals' 'heartbreaking' loss. The late-breaking slider that crossed the plate right on the edge of the strike zone, if not below it, wasn't what left a bad taste in the mouth of Cardinals reliever Andrew Kittredge. Yes, Milwaukee Brewers first baseman Rhys Hoskins reached down and swatted that slider 407 feet for a game-changing home run. For a moment, it looked like Cardinals center fielder Michael Siani might make a leaping catch to rob Hoskins' home run.
