9/19/24 A flying bat and a baserunning mistake cost Mariners chance to make up ground in playoff race. With their playoff chances slipping away, the Seattle Mariners found a painful new way to lose. The Mariners fell to the New York Yankees 2-1 in 10 innings on Wednesday night, but it was how the bottom of the 10th played out that will be remembered in Mariners lore as another chapter in a season that has gone awry. Julio Rodríguez was picked off third base for a bizarre double play after dodging a flying bat that slipped out of the hands of Randy Arozarena when he struck out swinging. The Mariners missed a chance to make up needed ground in the AL West and wild-card races after both Houston and Minnesota lost.

9/17/24 Passan: The enigma that is Seattle Mariners' Randy Arozarena. The Seattle Mariners are in need of an epic stretch of baseball to get themselves into the playoffs. With just 12 games remaining, Seattle sits two games (really three due to tiebreakers) behind the Minnesota Twins for the final American League wild-card berth and four behind the Houston Astros for first place in the AL West. When it comes to players who can help lead the type of run the Mariners need to make, there are few that can make the sort of impact Randy Arozarena has shown he's capable of. Arozarena took the baseball world by storm in 2020 with a legendary postseason performance that helped the Tampa Bay Rays reach the World Series.

9/15/24 Randy Arozarena Officially Has His Seattle Mariners Moment. When the Seattle Mariners traded for former American League Championship Series MVP Randy Arozarena on July 26, many fans were looking forward to the trademark moments that made him such a fan-favorite with the Tampa Bay Rays. This is the same player that had an entire section of the left field stands named "Randy Land" after him because of how much Rays fans loved him. It took a month and a half, but Seattle fans finally have their Arozarena moment. Or maybe Arozarena has finally had his Mariners moment.

9/15/24 Randy Arozarena drives in winning run in 9th, Mariners beat Rangers 5-4. Randy Arozarena had a one-out bases-loaded single in the ninth inning to give the Seattle Mariners a 5-4 victory over the Texas Rangers on Saturday night. Victor Robles doubled and stole third, and Julio Rodríguez and Cal Raleigh walked before Arozarena hit a sharp ground ball off José Leclerc (6-5) that got by shortstop Josh Smith to score Robles. Arozarena has four career walk-off hits — three singles and a home run. With Houston’s victory over the Los Angeles Angels, the Mariners remained 4 1/2 games back in the AL West standings, and are 2 1/2 games behind the Minnesota Twins for the final AL wild-card spot. Andrés Muñoz (3-6) pitched a scoreless ninth for the victory.
