9/13/24 Marlins take advantage of Nationals errors in 6-3 series-opening win. Jake Burger had three hits, Jonah Bride and Connor Norby had two RBIs apiece and the Miami Marlins scored three unearned runs off three errors in a 6-3 victory over the Washington Nationals on Thursday night in the opener of a four-game series. Bride had a game-tying single in the eighth inning and Otto Lopez added a go-ahead grounder two batters later for the Marlins, who snapped a three-game losing streak and improved to 2-9 against the Nationals this season. Washington lost its 81st game, assuring its fifth straight season without a winning record since its 2019 World Series title.

8/28/24 Marlins rally for 5 runs in 9th inning to stun Rockies 9-8 on Sánchez's homer. Jesús Sánchez hit a three-run homer to cap a five-run rally in the ninth inning that gave the Miami Marlins an improbable 9-8 comeback victory against the Colorado Rockies. In a matchup between the National League’s two worst teams, the Marlins trailed 6-0 early and were down by four entering the ninth. But they got a two-run double from Jake Burger before Sánchez followed with his 17th homer. It was the largest deficit Miami has overcome this season, besting the five-run hole it climbed out of in an April 30 win, which also came against the Rockies. Kyle Stowers hit his second home run and first triple of the season for Miami.

8/21/24 Out of the Frying Pan.... I dunno if Jake Burger wishes he was back in Chicago about now, but I think he definitely wishes he got traded somewhere other than Miami last year. Not that it's going especially badly for him specifically. Burger has been a really hot power hitter lately, with a team leading 24 home runs and 55 RBIs. That's some very big numbers for a guy who always felt overshadowed in Chicago. The problem is that now Burger's one of the only horses in town for the Marlins. So many people have left that it's really down to Burger, Jesus Sanchez and Xavier Edwards right now, and that's basically it. People have called the White Sox a triple-A team this year, but the Marlins are getting very close just with
