9/18/24 Red Sox get to Rays' bullpen, eke out win. Jarren Duran drove in the winning run in a small-ball eighth inning as the Boston Red Sox evened their three-game series with Tampa Bay on Wednesday, edging the Rays 2-1 in St. Petersburg, Fla. After Trevor Story (2-for-3, homer, two runs) opened the eighth with a weak single past Drew Rasmussen (0-2), the Boston shortstop stole second and third. With one out, Duran slapped the winning hit to right for the Red Sox (76-76).

9/17/24 Red Sox' Jarren Duran could win 'ultimate' award; What other coaches notice. Red Sox third base coach Kyle Hudson has several friends around the league who also coach third base. “Every time I come across them they talk about how they have to prepare differently for Jarren (Duran) this year than previous years,” Hudson said. The improvement Duran has made defensively in one year is significant. Duran had negative-6 defensive runs saved in 731 innings in the outfield last year.

9/13/24 Alex Bregman To Red Sox? Not Too Early To Think About MLB Free Agency. The Boston Red Sox might still be in contention for an American League wild card spot midway through September, but it's never too early to consider the upcoming available roster-improving options that could better position the team come 2025. Boston's collided with a trend of late-season swoons across the past three seasons, failing to capture a playoff berth since 2021. The front office entrusted the current roster's young up-and-comers with talents like Jarren Duran, Tanner Houck, Ceddanne Rafaela, Wilyer Abreu and Connor Wong each taking commendable leaps respectively to prevent the season from amounting into a complete dud. Duran and Houck represented the Red Sox in the All-Star Game -- Duran was named MVP -- and even though the team has encountered a rough late-season storm by going a combined 30-33 since July, only a 4 1/2 game deficit with 14 remaining including Friday night's against the New York Yankees, is what's holding the Red Sox back from stepping foot back into the wild card.

9/05/24 Red Sox Have No 'Elite' Players On Their Roster, According To New Report. What was an exciting Boston Red Sox season for most of the summer has taken an unfortunate nosedive. Losers of five in a row, the Red Sox have fallen to .500 and watched the embers of their playoff hopes gradually smolder out. Jarren Duran and Tanner Houck were surprise first-time All-Stars. Rafael Devers had a phenomenal season going before shoulder injuries slowed him down.

9/04/24 Red Sox Superstar On Verge Of Rare Accomplishment Not Seen Since 1968. 56 years ago, Hall of Famer Lou Brock accomplished something in Major League Baseball that no one has done since, and now a Boston Red Sox star is on the verge of the same feat. Among Brock's ridiculous list of career accomplishments — 3,000 hits, six All-Star appearances, two World Series rings, and eight-time National League stolen base leader (to name a few) — a rare achievement of Brock's from the 1968 season has found its way back into headlines in 2024. As a member of the St. Louis Cardinals in '68, Brock finished the year leading MLB in both doubles and triples, a triumph that no one has executed since. Believe it or not, if the 2024 MLB season ended today, Red Sox All-Star Jarren Duran would be just two doubles away from finishing as MLB's doubles and triples king for the season, just as Brock once did.
