MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) – The Milwaukee Brewers will be without another one of their starting pitchers for the rest of the season due to elbow surgery. According to Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Brewers left-handed starter Robert Gasser is scheduled to have season-ending elbow surgery on Monday after making five starts and posting a 2.57 ERA with 16 strikeouts and one walk in 28 innings pitched this season. MLB Trade Rumors' Anthony Franco reported on Thursday night that it is unclear if Gasser will need a full Tommy John reconstruction or a reduced ligament repair, but he is projected to miss at least a full calendar year, possibly until the middle of the 2025 season. MILWAUKEE, WI (WSAU) – The Milwaukee Brewers may be without one of their top young pitching prospects for the rest of the 2024 season after getting multiple medical opinions on a sore elbow. According to manager Pat Murphy, who spoke to MLB.com's Adam McCalvy, he's hoping to stay optimistic, but he believes Gasser's season is over due to precautionary reasons, saying, “I hope I'm wrong.
